I've had my personal CD player for only about 3 months (it was a Christmas present). I'd been eyeing up CD players for ages but never seemed to have the money for one so it was a nice surprise at Christmas. I love it. I use it all the time and I don't think my CD's have ever skipped or jumped, and I use it on the train, on the bus, while walking, in fact pretty much all the time. Pity they're being phased out :( Because it takes ATRAC CD you can fit stacks on CD's onto one CD (the amount depends on the quality you choose, but a safe bet would be around 25). Disadvantages: Poor reliability, started to skip after 2yrs despite anti-skip

I purchased this quite a long time ago, prior to the mp3 craze. I wanted it to use on the school bus and the lengthy playback persuaded me to purchase it over other models. The design is quite nice, at the time it was the slimmest cd player and the metal ring on the lid is a nice touch.
