The Sony DEJ785
Is compatable with all CD formats (CD-R's and CD-RW's) , this Sony product is almost alongside the ranks of a Mini Disc player, apart from it's size of course. With it's simplistic silver circular design and weight of 160g, it brilliantly fits into your pocket. it comes with good quality headphones and has a handy output device that is usefull for recording minidiscs.
The player seems to last for a good 40 to 50 hours, depending ... ...come with the product. The Sony DEJ785 is jog proof - it withstands a huge amount of bumping about My only real negative comment would be the battery holder being beneath the CD slot, which means you have to take out the CD to replace them, only a problem if you're either; on the move, or losing your favourite part of a song.
There isn't an in car kit supplied with this model, though a small amount of cash can remedy this (that's if you haven't ...

Pump It Up
Advantages: Shockproof Disadvantages: Headphones it comes with are odd shaped and dont fit ears correctly
I have owned this Portable CD Player since December 2003, and I can say I am very happy with its performance and sound output.
The sleek silver styling and chrome buttons and finishes give it that very expensive look but only cost £39.99, it also has a digital display that shows the track number and song time and also displays the different functions. and volume level.
It takes two AA batteries or can also be powered by a 4.5Volt adaptor. The sound ...

Stylish but lacking battery life
Advantages: Design, Features Disadvantages: Battery life
This comes with the typical Sony quality that we are all familiar with. It's design is extremely striking and the brushed aluminium turns heads. It is very well presented too - you feel quite special owning one. The Jog Proof facility is excellent and I was surprised at how much bouncing around it takes until the CD starts to skip a bit. The remote control that is supplied with the CD player is one of the best inventions. It shows you all the info ...

My SL-CT790 and me
Advantages: Small, stylish, good feature, weights nothing Disadvantages: Small buttons, alas discontinued
...really.
Here comes my Panasonic SL CT790, my recipe for peace..
~~~~~~~ Design ~~~~~~~
It is a small but nifty CD player barely bigger than a CD itself and has the shape of a CD – smaller and you will have to cut your CDs in order to play them – and sooooooo light.
It is sliky silver with brushed chrome lid, about 3cms – 1 inch – in width. It has all the essential buttons on the side of the unit, Play, Stop, Pause, Fast Forward/Rewind and a hold ... ...are special rechargeable batteries from Panasonic rectangular and weight nothing, they are located in a small compartment underneath the CD deck, which is not such a problem since you do not have to see or change them.
Again, my player came with a charger which plugs itself onto the unit and charge the battery and though I would believe that Panasonic would not be as cheeky as selling you the unit without it, I cannot vouch for that.
+++ Here's a bit of Sony Trivia for you: +++
Originally called Tokyo Tsushin Kogyo (Tokyo Telecommunications Engineering Company), Sony’s roots go back over half a century to 1946 when it was founded by Masaru Ibuka and Akio Morita. During the post-war Japanese economy Ibuka and Morita made their living repairing radios and manufacturing small numbers of voltmeters whilst looking to develop a future in designing and manufacturing new electronics. ... ...conceived. The name Sony derives from a combination of the Latin word 'sonus' meaning 'sound' and the English term 'sonny-boy'. Although the name of the company was not officially changed to Sony Corporation until 1958, the first Sony branded product was the TR-55 transistor radio which went on sale in 1955. This was shortly followed by Sony’s world first portable transistor radio. Sony’s UK history began in 1968 when Sony United Kingdom was founded ...
