I have owned my Panasonic RQ-CR15V Stereo Radio Cassette Player for just over 2 years. For a person who has a habit of breaking things especially walkmans , headphones and bags ! This is remarkably sturdy , including the headphones which was even more of a shock to me . As i used to go through a pair a month! I chose this by price , looks and quality. I picked well ! The walkman is silver on the front and grey on the back and a bit of blue around ... ...is not in use. The Panasonic also has a handy Battery check button with 3 bars to show how dead the batteries are. The Walkman also has direction , to turn the cassette over without physically doing it ! great time saver and to get back to the choons. Mostly i use the radio facility on the stereo. A Miraculous Little Music Machine Advantages: This wonderful little device has excellent sound quality and is extremely easy and convenient. The memory buttons work incredibly well and the radio goes on and on with a single AA battery. Disadvantages: It is easy to forget to turn it off, otherwise, none. ...looking for more of these Panasonic radios to give as gifts and to have for myself. The radio/cassette player comes equipped with earphones, but the ear buds that are easily found and bought in any store are wonderful. Often I have this radio to help me get to sleep at night. The earpnoe jack is located right next to the volume control making it convenient to raise and lower the sound without having to turn on the light. Old Friend. Advantages: Excellent sound, long playback hours. Disadvantages: Protrudable head. I have used this (black finishing) player for four years and more. Still it is the same like when I first bought it. It gives good sound quality, it's preferctly handy and above all, the battery lasts very long. In fact when I first bought it, I used it the next day to accompany my Shinkansen ride from Tokyo to Niigata, a little under 4 hours. That was a very good experience. Let me down when I most needed it! Advantages: Straightforward, some good details, AM radio, low cost Disadvantages: Broke very quickly! Screwed tapes easily. Also on the large side. I bought this for £3.99 in ASDA, a few days before going on a long train journey. I have had millions of Walkmans over the years - don't get me started on iPods and MP3 players and that, I've had all kinds of trouble with them! - so for this journey I just wanted a good, straightforward tape player and radio as I had a couple of tapes I wanted to listen to, and I didn't think radio receptio across the country would be good enough to rely on the radio ... ...cheerfully, I picked up this colourful, cheap and cheerful thing from said store, and took it home to investigate. Well, that didn't take long! It plays tapes and it has an analogue AM/FM radio that one has to tune in oneself with the dial. You can't, accordingly, preset radio stations, and unless you're like me and compulsively familiar with the whereabouts of those you listen to, this could get really annoying.
