portable dvd player 8-in dcp850 philips
Review of Philips DCP850 by
jupiter28
Advantages: quality of image is like watching normal tv/dvd, IPOD classic docking
Disadvantages: can't think of any
...while travelling abroad. The philips DCP range was actually quite new and had only been out a couple of months. In addition this bay lets the IPOD classic integrate as part of the unit and is flush so you can't tell. when you are not using the IPOD docking you can store the remote there.
The remote is very handy and perfectly sized with the same functions as you would have in a normal DVD player
The quality is as good as any normal TV/dvd combo ... ...I spent all my time in airport watching my home tv shows. The speakers are really good too and do not compromise the viewing experience at all
It is a fantastic unit for travelling and I highly rate it, is tough enough to take knocks while travelling but treat with care ...

Review of Sony DVP-FX 850 by
yassarikhan786
Advantages: 8" screen, support of multiple DVD formats, JPEG & MP3 playback,
Disadvantages: Mediocre integrated speaker system
...portable DVD players out there. Sony have really produced a GEM of a portable DVD player in the form of the DVP-FX 850.
Sony are renowned for their ability to create magnificent electronics both for the average consumer and for large organizations. This portable DVD player is no exception to Sony's policy of producing high-quality products.
To play a DVD you simply press a button located just above the DVD drive, which opens up the area in which ... ...if you visit the official Sony electronic shop you may be able to persuade them to give you a better deal. It often works in areas with low levels of customers.
I recommend this to potential buyers, but with the release of 160 GB media devices such as the iPod classic I am certain that not many people buy portable DVD players anymore. There will be a minority who purely want to enjoy a DVD on a reasonably sized screen even though they can store ...

Review of Wharfedale DVD-252 by
Lizamabug
Advantages: Price, Design, Weight, Size, Accessories
Disadvantages: Picture and Sound Quality is Limited
...Tesco Direct I found the Wharfedale DVD-252 on the Argos site which I immediately realised filled all of my requirements perfectly. Most important to me was that this model had a 7" screen, appeared to be stylish and compact and was offered at the promotional price of £59.99 (RRP £69.99). Having owned several Wharfedale televisions in my time I was more than confident that this was an affordable brand with standards I could rely on. I'm also a fan ... ...WHAT'S IN THE BOX?
My box was a nice, light, compact number that just managed to fit into a standard sized Argos carrier bag. On opening it up back at home I found two cardboard trays inside protecting the attractive black and silver DVD player (the cardboard was the same kind that they use to package eggs) which I wriggled out of the box to get started. Having previously owned a portable DVD player, albeit a different model, I didn't find ...

DVD player for girls with a passion for fashion
Review of Bratz Portable DVD Player by
lizngaz
Advantages: remote, nice design, portable
Disadvantages: battery pack is a bit bulky
...of one and saw this Bratz portable DVD player in the pile of toys shown on the advert so went online for a look. I had been considering buying it since my friend bought it her daughter for a birthday present and told me about it. She told me they are a lot cheaper in big W but I'm not sure what the exact price is. They are around £65 everywhere else, but I managed to pick it up for a bargain £32.48. A bargain for any portable DVD player, I wasn't ... ...and silver complete with the Bratz logo on the top. It comes complete with a remote control, battery pack (which fixes on to the bottom), charger and earphones (not the most wonderful set in the world but easy to buy a new pair). When you open it, there is a Bratz picture on the bottom (which is where you lift up to insert the DVD), and four buttons in the shape of lips. These are for the volume, next/previous, pause/stop and play. You can use the ...
