DVD player for girls with a passion for fashion
Review of Bratz Portable DVD Player by
lizngaz
Advantages: remote, nice design, portable
Disadvantages: battery pack is a bit bulky
...of one and saw this Bratz portable DVD player in the pile of toys shown on the advert so went online for a look. I had been considering buying it since my friend bought it her daughter for a birthday present and told me about it. She told me they are a lot cheaper in big W but I'm not sure what the exact price is. They are around £65 everywhere else, but I managed to pick it up for a bargain £32.48. A bargain for any portable DVD player, I wasn't ... ...and silver complete with the Bratz logo on the top. It comes complete with a remote control, battery pack (which fixes on to the bottom), charger and earphones (not the most wonderful set in the world but easy to buy a new pair). When you open it, there is a Bratz picture on the bottom (which is where you lift up to insert the DVD), and four buttons in the shape of lips. These are for the volume, next/previous, pause/stop and play. You can use the ...

Review of Bratz Portable DVD Player by
danielalong
Advantages: Popular brand dvd player which is simple to use
Disadvantages: small screen
Bratz dvd player.
It appears that Barbie is on her way out, and the thing of the moment seems to be those overly pouting lip glossed Bratz girls.
So, for the Little Miss who travels by car to Italy, it seemed the logical progression to try to alleviate the boredom with a portable dvd player, and what better than one shaped like lips.
Not being overly technical, I will describe it in layman’s terms.
~~What do I get~~
Inside the box, I naturally ... ...is the pink variety. The Bratz logo is on the top, and to open, all you do is lift the upper “lips”.
Once opened, of course, there is the screen which is fully angled, meaning, I presume, that it can be pushed back or pulled forwards for best viewing angle.
The 4 small purple function buttons are of course, lip shaped, and show the commands VOLUME<,NEXT/PREVIOUS, PAUSE/STOP, PLAY. The buttons with two functions are worked by pushing either the ...

display is not correct
Review of Sony MV-65 ST by
videokojak009
Advantages: SONY. good contrast
Disadvantages: no 3x4 display (gets stretched to 16x9). poor support in Australia
...On Sale. Good news. Sony knows about good pictures. Oh yes! Hang on- the player doesn't have 3x4 playback!!! Oh dear. All 3x4 movies are stretched- Makes everybody look like Danny deVito! Worse: and here the drama starts- the wide screen display 16x9 has a fault! it is horizontally non-linear, meaning: the center of the picture is compressed, whilst the left + right are stretched. a circle looks like an egg! Ok, I used test cards to prove it, and ... ...the unit to a Sony approved workshop here in Sydney, they didn't see (didn't want to see?) the fault. "We re-set the unit. It is normal" Thanks, I had done that a couple of times already. It went back, several months later it still wasn't fixed. Now I'm in dire need of a service manual, will try myself! ...

Review of Venturer PVS12620 by
fimbe
Advantages: very easy to use
Disadvantages: it dosent play DVD R
I got the Venturer PVS12620 for christmas, and i must say i am very impressed. It is very easy to use for both grown ups and children. Battery life is good, you get time enough to watch a 2 hour film. The DVD player is light and dosent take up much room in a bag. Very handy for trips and travelling. It supports Jpeg files which makes it possible to look at your picture discs aswell. The only disadvantage is that it dosent play DVD R's which can be ...

portable dvd player 8-in dcp850 philips
Review of Philips DCP850 by
jupiter28
Advantages: quality of image is like watching normal tv/dvd, IPOD classic docking
Disadvantages: can't think of any
...while travelling abroad. The philips DCP range was actually quite new and had only been out a couple of months. In addition this bay lets the IPOD classic integrate as part of the unit and is flush so you can't tell. when you are not using the IPOD docking you can store the remote there.
The remote is very handy and perfectly sized with the same functions as you would have in a normal DVD player
The quality is as good as any normal TV/dvd combo ... ...I spent all my time in airport watching my home tv shows. The speakers are really good too and do not compromise the viewing experience at all
It is a fantastic unit for travelling and I highly rate it, is tough enough to take knocks while travelling but treat with care ...
