Nice portable device with lots of features!
Review of Logik LPD 850 by wailor

Advantages: Widescreen, 2 headphone ports, good quality audio/visual
Disadvantages: Buttons feel a bit cheap

I got one of these as a relocation present. the main feature to enjoy is the wide screen. It's about 7 inches viewing!!! Picture quality is rather good, considering that I'm a penchant for all the big names, sony, panasonic, etc but was pleasantly surprised with this one. Sound quality is good too. when I first tested the battery life, I think i got about 2+ hours out of it. Another good point with this is that whether you have the remote or not, ...
...change language, etc. A good thing is that the film stops while doing that (manually, did not check if so with remote) so nothing is missed comes with AV in and out and two audio out points so two headphones can be hooked up which is great. audio can be increased/decreased manually too. It has anti shock, progressive scan, dolby digital and is also Kodak picture cd compatible. The battery pack is pleasantly small and slips on easily thus making ... Read review

Matsui 8" Portable DVD Player - not bad
Review of Matsui PL 800 by IzzyS

Advantages: Good screen and unit size, nice and portable, pretty lightweight when battery isnt used
Disadvantages: Had problems with the disc tray opening (has now been fixed), battery pack heavy

...Comet stores I believe and Matsui is one of their makes. They currently cost £33.99 and they also sell replacement remote controls, mains and car power adaptors, as well as earphones and audio/video connection cables. So basically you can buy replacements for everything through that site (Partmaster.co.uk, obviously search for Matsui PL800 for the right parts). Okay so Matsui is perhaps not the biggest quality brand name out there and there may ...
...not too worried about the Matsui make apart from the problem I've mentioned already as my family have a few Matsui products and they've all been fine, so I think in general Matsui are no worse than other brands. Below are a couple of photos of the player, remote control and battery pack. I hope you found this review at least somewhat useful. Edit 16/10/07 - I decided to check if this was working properly as I hadn't used it since it got taken with ... Read review

Best investment for 12 hour plane journeys!
Review of Matsui PL618 by scotlandizdabest

Advantages: Portable, good picture and sound, very handy to beat boredom
Disadvantages: Quite sensitive if moved suddenly

**What Is It** The Matsui PL618 is a portable DVD player. It has a LCD (Liquid Crystal Display) 8" screen display. It is used to allow the access of DVD's and CD's to be played at will, without the need of a television. **Why Get One?** I asked for one for my Christmas two years ago so I would be able to watch DVD's in the car, in my room and on the plane for when we went to New Zealand. So it would be useful as I would be able to watch my favorite ...
...Dixons and Amazon and off Matsui but I have been having a look and they seem to be obsolete now and no longer manufactured. They however still had some for sale which range from about £99.99 to £44.99. **Whats Right With It?** Were do I start, well the picture quality is fantastic. The sound is brilliant and very impressive, especially if your watching a action packed movie like Pirates of the Carribean or something like that. The design is modern ... Read review

Bush PDVD0801 Portable DVD Player
Review of Bush PDVD0801 by starnett

Advantages: Pretty lightweight, compact, swivel screen
Disadvantages: can sound a little noisy occasionally

This DVD player caught my eye with its swivel screen. It's a straight out of the box product, complete with power pack, remote and battery. You get around 2.5 to 3 hours out of the battery but I mainly use it plugged in. The screen is fully adjustable (colour, brightness etc) allowing use in different light settings and it is of good qualtiy. What's unique about the screen is that you can twist it around and close the player allowing you to hold ...
...would with a PSP for example. The sound quality from the built in speakers is a little tinny, i'd recommend to use speakers or headphones but I expected that from a portable device. DVD playback is like any other DVD player really. I've had no problems with playing any DVD's at all. The only thing I have noticed is the played can sound a bit noisy sometimes when loading DVDs but this isn't very often. Buttons on the system are well placed and ... Read review

The Panasonic LS82
Review of Panasonic DVD-LS 82 by Julia95x

Advantages: Great battery life and picture quality is also great.
Disadvantages: No control

I bought this portable DVD player because I had seen positive reviews about it, and wanted to see it for myself! I'm certainly not disappointed with it and I'm glad I did buy it! What stands out the most to me is the battery life. It lasts for hours! I heard the battery lasts for 12 hours, but found this untrue. Although it didn't last 12 hours I was still pleased with the battery life as it lasts enough time for me. You could probably still watch ...
...you only listen to music on the DVD player, the battery lasts a lot longer than when you are watching films. The screen is 8.5 inches and the LCD screen is attached to an arm which allows more flexibility when your adjusting the angle you want. The screen can be tilted as very far back, about so far back it is flat against the base! So it's very flexible! Another great thing about the portable DVD player is the picture quality. I saw the quality ... Read review
