Reviews of Portable DVD Players »
Pricey... but what value a quiet car journey?!
Advantages: Superb picture, Easy to use Disadvantages: Expensive, but worth it?!
OVERVIEW
I bought the LS83 DVD player manufactured by Panasonic, not because I am a shocking parent, but to make some of our longer family journeys a little more peaceful...
At £ 160.00, (with a little change!), it was quite an investment, but it does come very well packaged, with an easy to understand manual, and its sharp black finish makes it very pleasing to the eye. Prices do seem to vary, and with a little more time, and research, we could ... ...a very easy to use product, and the kids are able to use it (probably easier) than we do.
TECHNICALS
It has a 8’5" LCD screen that can be used for keeping the little ones happy, or my husband uses it for his business presentations. The screen has a hinge that allows for both vertical and horizontal adjustment, to allow everyone to be able to view, and is very robust!
The full dimensions of the product are 1.85" x 9.6" x 6.85" and it weights at ...

Panasonic Portable DVD player Review.
Advantages: Great if you work away. Disadvantages: Battery life
The Panasonic LS80-K is quit a stylish little portable DVD player with its black interior and silver housing this looks the business. The Panasonic LS82
Advantages: Great battery life and picture quality is also great. Disadvantages: No control
I bought this portable DVD player because I had seen positive reviews about it, and wanted to see it for myself! I'm certainly not disappointed with it and I'm glad I did buy it!
What stands out the most to me is the battery life. It lasts for hours! I heard the battery lasts for 12 hours, but found this untrue. Although it didn't last 12 hours I was still pleased with the battery life as it lasts enough time for me. You could probably still watch ... ...you only listen to music on the DVD player, the battery lasts a lot longer than when you are watching films. The screen is 8.5 inches and the LCD screen is attached to an arm which allows more flexibility when your adjusting the angle you want. The screen can be tilted as very far back, about so far back it is flat against the base! So it's very flexible!
Another great thing about the portable DVD player is the picture quality. I saw the quality ...

Top marks for convenience
Advantages: Light, portable Disadvantages: Only 3 hours playback time, picture not brilliant
...Using in a car
Panasonic portable DVD players are apparently the best for in-car use. I've only used it the once, but it was very easy to set up. The player comes with a headrest mounting bracket, which was easy to set up in the car - although I would recommend that parents don't leave their children to do it because it is probably a bit to fiddly for little hands. I had absolutely no problem with watching a DVD in the car - there is shock protection ... ...but I am surprised that Panasonic haven't come up with a way to make the pciture better.
Price
I was shocked when I researched the price to find that it is in the range of £200. The cheapest I found was online from 121Electricals (not a site I'm familiar with for £198.45. The Curry's price is £226.99. I would recommend shopping around for it, especially at this time of year, because I do think it is expensive at full price. I would have thought ...

THE VISIONARY PANASONIC DVDLV50EBS
Advantages: Compact Dimensions/Price/Great Picture and Sound Quality Disadvantages: Speaker Sound Quality
---Overview---
Panasonic is by far one of my favourite electronic companies now and after purchasing this item it has reinforced that argument even further. Having to travel a lot on public transport over long distances can get a bit of a bore, some read a book others exhust the papers while a few gaze out of the window. Now Panasonic have managed to brighten up my life by giving me the escapism I need when travelling from dull location to another, ... ...to a lot of other portable DVD's on the market this is relatively cheap clocking in at around £400 and some stores throw in a couple of free DVD's too! ---Sound/Picture Quality---
There is very little to grumble about the picture quality, the 5" display is very crisp however it could do with some a bit more range with the brightness and contrast. The sound however is a bit tinny when creeping up to maximum volume, with headphones however the sound ...
