Advantages: great for keeping kids quite
Disadvantages: lots of wires
my kids got this for Christmas it have been a delight as they both have there own screen and can watch away from each other, well as far as the lead reaches, had two buy two headphone sets .
the quality is very good the picture is good as is the sound (the reason why the headphones had to be bought)
for the car its great can be removed very easy and with the headphones the silence is great , comes with a in car charger
only complaint is a lot ...

The Best Portable DVD Player For This Price!
Review of Philips PET 730 by
Craigshadow12
Advantages: Great picture, Good audio, Nice to look at.
Disadvantages: Sound cannot go as high as some other portable DVD players.
Introduction
=
I would like to start this review by stating why I chose to buy this product instead of the many other portable DVD players that I could have bought. The first reason was simply the price. This was the cheapest Portable DVD player that I could find at my local Electronics store. You must understand that I do not travel all that often so I just wanted a cheap portable DVD player so that I would not get bored during any long ... ...the summer. To put it simply if I did not have this device when I was travelling I would have been incredibly bored. Portable DVD players become lifesavers on long journeys.
This machine was also useful for those times when I just fancied lying back on my bed and watching a film. Even though my TV with DVD player was just feet away, I found that it was much easier to just boot this product up, slot in a DVD and sit back and relax. I loved not having ...

portable dvd player 8-in dcp850 philips
Review of Philips DCP850 by
jupiter28
Advantages: quality of image is like watching normal tv/dvd, IPOD classic docking
Disadvantages: can't think of any
...while travelling abroad. The philips DCP range was actually quite new and had only been out a couple of months. In addition this bay lets the IPOD classic integrate as part of the unit and is flush so you can't tell. when you are not using the IPOD docking you can store the remote there.
The remote is very handy and perfectly sized with the same functions as you would have in a normal DVD player
The quality is as good as any normal TV/dvd combo ... ...I spent all my time in airport watching my home tv shows. The speakers are really good too and do not compromise the viewing experience at all
It is a fantastic unit for travelling and I highly rate it, is tough enough to take knocks while travelling but treat with care ...

Review of Philips PET720 by
susie191
Advantages: Stylish and portable... as good as a mini apple
Disadvantages: Reasonably heavy for its size
...Our new pet is a Philips portable DVD player PET720.
One of our kids had requested a purple portable DVD player for Christmas, something initially I was not keen on encouraging. There seemed little point since we have a DVD player in the lounge, a PS2 which doubles as a DVD player in the playroom and a built in DVD system in the car. Her reasons for wanting one were mainly that she could watch films in her room when friends came for a sleepover. ... ...~*~*~*~
Whenever you see the Philips PET720 advertised in a catalogue, you invariably get a view of it showing the screen. This suggests that the player is a black model. The interior of the DVD player is jet black. It therefore came as a surprise when we opened the box to find that the top of the player is shiny and white (think Apple Mac). It is lovely to look at and it has a silver bottom too.

The DVD player can play films ...
