Movies on the move! PVR-500
Review of Yamada PVD500 by noyzboyz

Advantages: Compact, lightweight, good picture, external playback, PAL & NTSC
Disadvantages: Disk can stick when player gets hot

This review is about the Yamada PVR-500 not the PVD-500 as this category suggests. I don't know what the difference is since they look exactly the same and appear to have the same features but just so you know,.... I own the PVR-500. Readers of my other reviews may be aware that I spend a lot of time away from home, mainly with work. Currently I’m in US waters (dodging hurricanes) and the DVD player on the ship only plays Region 1 (US) DVD’s. Obviously ...
...trashed. I came across the Yamada PVR-500 whilst surfing the net. It was advertised at the very reasonable price of 140 quid on Amazon. In fact it was the cheapest I could find anywhere. I was a bit skeptical at first but each review was glowing in its praise so I thought I’d give it a go. (I’ve bought other products from Amazon based on the good reviews that other consumers have written and so far I haven’t been disappointed) The shipping was free ... Read review

Scarface on the 12.05 train from Paddington
Review of Panasonic DVDLS50EBS by toxicreviewer

Advantages: Watch DVDs on the go, great playback and audio, long lasting battery, 7-inch widescreen display
Disadvantages: Expensive to purchase additional batteries, purchase price of unit, buttons are small and close together, no remote

...to Christmas I received the Panasonic DVDLS50, a tidy portable DVD player costing £279.99. Like most portable and static DVD players new on the market, the DVDLS50 has silver colouring and gives off an air of assured quality thanks to the lightweight metal covers. Despite the metal covers and 7-inch widescreen display unit located on a support strut above the DVD drive, the DVDLS50 isn't heavy at all and doesn't compromise its portability at all. ...
...similar to a medium sized laptop computer. The base unit containing the top loaded DVD drive is fairly slim, the fully dimensions being 19cm wide by 2.9cm deep. With the screen fully upright the entire unit only stands 16.5cm. The screen folds down very quickly when on the move and automatically turns of the player once it locks onto the base unit. Before starting it is recommended that the battery pack located on the underside of the unit is fully ... Read review

The Panasonic LS82
Review of Panasonic DVD-LS 82 by Julia95x

Advantages: Great battery life and picture quality is also great.
Disadvantages: No control

I bought this portable DVD player because I had seen positive reviews about it, and wanted to see it for myself! I'm certainly not disappointed with it and I'm glad I did buy it! What stands out the most to me is the battery life. It lasts for hours! I heard the battery lasts for 12 hours, but found this untrue. Although it didn't last 12 hours I was still pleased with the battery life as it lasts enough time for me. You could probably still watch ...
...you only listen to music on the DVD player, the battery lasts a lot longer than when you are watching films. The screen is 8.5 inches and the LCD screen is attached to an arm which allows more flexibility when your adjusting the angle you want. The screen can be tilted as very far back, about so far back it is flat against the base! So it's very flexible! Another great thing about the portable DVD player is the picture quality. I saw the quality ... Read review

portable dvd player 8-in dcp850 philips
Review of Philips DCP850 by jupiter28

Advantages: quality of image is like watching normal tv/dvd, IPOD classic docking
Disadvantages: can't think of any

...while travelling abroad. The philips DCP range was actually quite new and had only been out a couple of months. In addition this bay lets the IPOD classic integrate as part of the unit and is flush so you can't tell. when you are not using the IPOD docking you can store the remote there. The remote is very handy and perfectly sized with the same functions as you would have in a normal DVD player The quality is as good as any normal TV/dvd combo ...
...I spent all my time in airport watching my home tv shows. The speakers are really good too and do not compromise the viewing experience at all It is a fantastic unit for travelling and I highly rate it, is tough enough to take knocks while travelling but treat with care ... Read review
