Reviews of Portable DVD Players »
Cheap Portable DVD Player that is Satisfactory.
Advantages: Cheap, good sound, good battery life. Disadvantages: Cheap plastic, average screen quality, breaks after a couple of years.
...works. It contacted the Alba Customer Help and they said try using a lens cleaner, that didn't work. The DVD player doesn't even start to spin it as it says 'NO DISC.' They also said that as my Guarantee has ran out I should try finding an electrician or specialist. I thought I'll just buy another one, something even better.
Overall, it is a cheap Portable DVD Player that delivers your needs (playing DVDs). Don't expect excellent picture quality ...

Durable - still working almost 2 years on
Advantages: Easy to use, USB port option, durable, easily converted to region free Disadvantages: a bit heavy, short battery life
I bought this at £109 delivered from LASKYS.com back in July 2007. No kidding I am one of those people who keep records of purchases - receipts if bought from shops, electronic invoices if bought via the internet. At that time, both Argos and Amazon are selling this machine but at a higher price £120-130. The reason for this purchase was that we were going for long car journeys on a regular basis. To keep the kid entertained while one of us can have ... ...the car. Also, it is useful for a caravan holiday when it is raining and there is no DVD player in the caravan. Since this is a portable 7" DVD player, I would not expect Dolby surround sound and cinematic picture quality. Also, it should be relatively simple to set up and use especially for a kid. It has all the basic features and a bit more - an USB port for pen drives so that you can either use it to play movies stored on the pen drive or do a ...

At £ 160.00, (with a little change!), it was quite an investment, but it does come very well packaged, with an easy to understand manual, and its sharp black finish makes it very pleasing to the eye. Prices do seem to vary, and with a little more time, and research, we could ... ...a very easy to use product, and the kids are able to use it (probably easier) than we do.
TECHNICALS
It has a 8’5" LCD screen that can be used for keeping the little ones happy, or my husband uses it for his business presentations. The screen has a hinge that allows for both vertical and horizontal adjustment, to allow everyone to be able to view, and is very robust!
The full dimensions of the product are 1.85" x 9.6" x 6.85" and it weights at ...
