Sony DVPFX720 DVD Playe
Advantages: ease of use Disadvantages: pricey
I found this dvd player very easy and versatile to use. It is very easy to turn on and allows the user to easily choose which av format is required. It is sleek and stylish and will look good in any h9ome rangine from medium to small. Its durable and the remote control operation is very simple. The instructions are a little on the complex side but even the most elderly owner will be able to grasp what they are aiming at. The price is the only thing ...

display is not correct
Advantages: SONY. good contrast Disadvantages: no 3x4 display (gets stretched to 16x9). poor support in Australia
...On Sale. Good news. Sony knows about good pictures. Oh yes! Hang on- the player doesn't have 3x4 playback!!! Oh dear. All 3x4 movies are stretched- Makes everybody look like Danny deVito! Worse: and here the drama starts- the wide screen display 16x9 has a fault! it is horizontally non-linear, meaning: the center of the picture is compressed, whilst the left + right are stretched. a circle looks like an egg! Ok, I used test cards to prove it, and ... ...the unit to a Sony approved workshop here in Sydney, they didn't see (didn't want to see?) the fault. "We re-set the unit. It is normal" Thanks, I had done that a couple of times already. It went back, several months later it still wasn't fixed. Now I'm in dire need of a service manual, will try myself! ...

Watch movies on the GO with another BRO
Advantages: 8" screen, support of multiple DVD formats, JPEG & MP3 playback, Disadvantages: Mediocre integrated speaker system
...portable DVD players out there. Sony have really produced a GEM of a portable DVD player in the form of the DVP-FX 850.
Sony are renowned for their ability to create magnificent electronics both for the average consumer and for large organizations. This portable DVD player is no exception to Sony's policy of producing high-quality products.
To play a DVD you simply press a button located just above the DVD drive, which opens up the area in which ... ...if you visit the official Sony electronic shop you may be able to persuade them to give you a better deal. It often works in areas with low levels of customers.
I recommend this to potential buyers, but with the release of 160 GB media devices such as the iPod classic I am certain that not many people buy portable DVD players anymore. There will be a minority who purely want to enjoy a DVD on a reasonably sized screen even though they can store ...

Movies on the Move
Advantages: Excellent picture and sound quality, five hour battery life on one charge Disadvantages: No SD card slot
...researching, I decided on the Sony DVP-FX730W – which came in at £99.99 on Amazon and included a copy of the Disney film “Bolt”. As I had £95 in Amazon vouchers, I only had to stump up a fiver and the order was placed. Inside the Box * DVD player * “Bolt” DVD * Remote Control * Instruction Manual * Mains Charger Lead * Car Charger Lead * Audio/video leads to enable you to connect the DVD player to your TV. What’s It Like? The Sony DVP-FX730 ... ...increase significantly. The Sony DVP-FX730 has a massive five hours battery life, which is absolutely perfect for train journeys to London or for medium haul flights. This was the clincher for me when factoring in the pluses and minuses of various players and making my final decision. The first thing that I noticed when I removed the player from its box was how light this was in comparison to the old Shinco player. The player itself isn’t particularly ...

The Force Was Not Strong on this One
Advantages: Nice look, nice to tilt screen, good battery Disadvantages: cant share, poor brightness
The Sony DVP-FX810 is one of few portable DVD players from Sony, which boasts a 3 hour battery life, the ability to turn and tilt the screen 180 degrees, turning it into a tablet player, and a sleek fresh design. So obviously, I saw it, and decided, hey why not give it a go.
You see I have children, its sad but true, and since the beginning of time, or at least as far back as I can remember, children have argued and bickered amongst themselves, ... ...go for, obviously, was the Sony DVP-FX810. Now, obviously, it was the sleek design which caught my eye, Sony had moved away from the traditional silver of other players and had gone all black, with a nice shiny hard cover for the screen which just adds to the aesthetics.
So it had caught my eye, and now for the hard part, handing over £190, yes yet another goodly sum of money invested into the kids. And then it was done, and I now had a new toy. ...
