long term partner
Advantages: excellent performer, last forever Disadvantages: extra base not very effective.
...so they offered me the Panasonic SL MP3 CD to keep me happy, even though it was a few pounds more expensive than sony's. I took it grudgingly thinking panasonic wont be as good as sony.
Never have i been so wrong, till today 2006,this Mp3 CD player has not turned off on me once. The CDs I use with it now are stil compatible with its sofware. I use Dvd discs for MP3 songs holding Up to 8,000 songs and the player is still reading every song. I have ... ...that has not aged or needed updataing or replaced apart from this player.
I must admit i have given the poor fella a hard time these few years but he never let me down yet. Even though the player has not let me down however the adaptor and headphones that it came with have both been replaced twice, they just stopped working. ther is and xtra bass feature button which from day one has not really added much bass to the music. the rest of the features ...

If you're like me and prefer handling your music rather than merely transferring data, (geez, I'd be up for a portable mini vinyl deck with headphones if it was easily transportable!) this isn't a bad little runner. The reason I purchased this rather than the multitude of other portable ... ...it could easily play re-writable cd's, and more importantly could read mp3 data from a cd.
Not having a computer with a cd burner would make this less useful, but then any mp3 player without a computer isn't so much fun.
As always the included headphones don't really do the sound justice, but if you have a nice set of your own you shouldn't be too disappointed.
While this player has the ability to play mp3's, has good sound, good anti-skip and ...

Panasonic SL SX402
Advantages: good sound quality, good D sound anti-skip system, earphone remote control, plays mp3 and wma Disadvantages: doesn't support ID3tags
I have had the Panasonic SL SX420 for awhile now, and I am very happy with its performance. I was looking for a cd/mp3 portable player that would be sylish, with long lasting batteries and with a good anti-skip system. SL SX420 offers all of it. The player has a similar design as other Panasonic cd players with the main function buttons (memo, mode, eq, play, stop, ff, rew, nad volume)on the front of the player. The only functions that are on the ... ...you have left.
And finally, Panasonic did really good job with the anti-skip system. I can do almost everything with this cd player without making it skip. People who run with cd players have probably experienced the skipping with some older cd players but my SL SX430 has not skipped once yet.
I love this cd player and would recommend it to everyone who does not want to spend a fortune on a good mp3 cd player but wants to get a quality item. ...

Can't afford an iPod? Try this...
Advantages: plays WMA and MP3 Disadvantages: uncomfortable ear piece (just buy some decent headphones)
...thrilled when I found the Panasonic SL SX425S for just £70 which could not only play MP3 but the much smaller WMA - which are roughly half the size but remain the same quality as the MP3
You can cram as many songs as you like onto a CD-R or CD-RW and it will play them, although beware when playing WMA the battery power can go down pretty quickly!
The general layout and style is good, and it looks very attractive, there is also a useful "Hold" button ... ...on...
Another of the Panasonic SL SX425S useful features is its display screen which shows the song number you are playing and the time remaining, you can also alter some of the features, so that your songs sound better, for example their is a setting for live songs and for those rock songs which you want a bit more of a beat with!
The sound quality is excellent, but I really depends on what you put on your CD, if your original is poor then of ...

Highly recommended!
Advantages: Sturdy**Good Sound Quality**Stylish Design**Decent XBS System**No skips even if I try! **Gives good volume Disadvantages: Sub par earphones
...need to change them. This panasonic takes ordinary AA alkaline batteries or rechargables.
Now let me tell you, I am not the most careful person in the world and I need to express to you now the sturdiness of this player. I have dropped it, on a hard wood floor. The player was no different and did not even skip! In fact, I cannot get this player to skip even if I try my hardest, and I have tried. I even inserted one of my oldest, not unblemished ... ...for about 30 seconds before giving up. This player plays everything! Even mini CDs! Believe me, I am one picky person but I am writing this now to fully recommend this player to anyone who is considering buying it. It is extremely good quality for the price and I'd say most people would be satisfied with it. ...
