Reviews of Portable MiniDisc Players »
Sizes is not everything.
Advantages: answer to a problem Disadvantages: might makes to go and spend some money
...instead, which was the model Panasonic SJ-MR220. Before getting this, I was looking at the MP3 players on the market, but found that their memory were too small at the time, only allowing about an hour of music. So getting the mini-disc answered this problem for me, as you can get up five and half hours of music on one disc, which I will talk more about later.
The first thing I notice about the disc was the size, which was small, only 6 x 5 cm in ... ...the battery compartment fitted. The width is only about 1 cm, and weights around 112 g, so it is also slim and light. To put into plain English, I found that I could fit the player into my trouser pocket with no problem, better than carry around a portable CD player any day, so bigger is not always best. I could not wait to make use of this little buddle of joy, so charged the battery up, the player comes with a rechargeable battery, and is charged ...

slim n simple
Advantages: slim Disadvantages: stand
The unit is very silm and simple with easy to use buttons and a very simple remote as long as you have small fingers! The battery life is excellent and even better with the extra case fitted but this is ugly and annoying. The sound quality is good but detierates in LP4 but this happens with all md players. The charging / speaker stand is of poor quality and bends if you put too much pressure on to it, the charger sometimes doesnt work untill you ...

Saved by its slimness
Advantages: Slim, looks good, useful battery pack, all the functions you need. Disadvantages: Rubbish earphones, scratches easily.
...it to its successor, the Panasonic SJ-MJ88. The first thing you notice about this player is its size. It really is not much bigger than the Minidisc itself, and once you’ve taken out the Minidisc and battery from the unit it is as light as a feather (well 61g to be exact). This is an advantage of MD players that do not include record features, but this Panasonic range of players are particularly small.
The range of features on the SJ-MJ75 is similar ... ...Earphones that come with it. Panasonic MD players are widely known to come with awful earphones and this is no exception. I’m not usually fussy, but I was forced to buy new ones because these Panasonic earphones really are terrible. No matter how careful I am they refuse to stay in my ears (even when I’m hardly moving) and I refuse to accept that this is due to me having deformed ears because my girlfriend had the same problem with them! The problem ...

A MUST-HAVE MINIDISC. THE BEST OF HISTORY
Advantages: ALL OF THEM Disadvantages: NONE.
...ONE OF THE BEST THINGS SONY EVER DID.
just read this guy who works on repairing minidisc and electronic things:
"Looking on it with the MD Book of History you can see that it is based on older models of Sony. They learned the materia gradually. The 50 looks like the 30 and the 35 but it is better. They introduced a new laser unit and they built the MD from high quality materials. The covers are made from magnesium and the disc holder from titanium. ...

Excellent quality, slightly lightweight build
Advantages: Sound quality, remote control quality Disadvantages: Leightweight Build
A wonderful minidisc player - I have had this for around 10 years and it still hasn't lost its appeal. I have recorded hundreds of minidiscs on this machine, and the sound quality remains as good as it was the day I bought it.
I found the build quality to be slightly plasticky, but this does make for a lighter machine (compared to my amp and cd player, this machine is as light as a feather!!). I get the impression though that if I had not been incredibly ...
