Archos 605 Wifi all round reveiw. Advantages: Great screen quality and size, built in speaker and stand. Disadvantages: The only downside is that it is fragile, and can be hard to get used to the on screen keyboard. ...catching piece, when pulling this Archos out of your pocket in a social environment then you are sure to be asked questions about it. The first thing you may notice is the screen, it is a high resolution screen, 800x480 pixels, 4.3'' TFT LCD touch screen. It is an absolute crystal clear picture and watching movies or viewing pictures is so pleasing when you can see every last detail with out any blur or fuzziness. If watching videos is what you want ... ...buy a DVR Station from Archos or any technology shop or electrical retailer. This device allows you to record live TV be it Sky, Virgin media or terrestrial TV. You can then play the recorded items back on the TV through the DVR station when connected to your TV. archos 5 250GB is huge!!! Archos 605 30gb Not as great as you may think. Advantages: Amazing screen. Disadvantages: To many things to list so read the review. Archos have been very unfair here, as although when you purchase a mp4/mp3 player a mains charger is not included, you usually can cheaply buy one yourself. But what Archos have done is (unless you want to charge up using your computer) make you buy a £30 - £50 dock to charge it up on after the £180 you originally spend. However, if you don't mind dishing out this additional cash that's not all you have to pay for. You have to pay for the program ... ...bad I truly believe that Archos shouldn't be allowed to say that it can produce 16 hours of music playback, as it only can achieve 6 hours at most on 3/4 volume. Although, it is probably just my Archos 605 (30gb) that doesn't allow me to connect to the internet, so I cant even pay for the software that allows me to use the internet more efficiently (as i have been unable to purchase Opera, I havn't shown its price above). 605 wifi a great media player Advantages: wifi, great screen, internet browser, media streamer Disadvantages: hidden costs for plug ins I ordered my Archos 605 80gb wifi from curry's digital and went to collect in store. After the first charge which takes forever using the supplied usb connector (48 hours for the charge light to flash fully charged) I was ready to start using my player. One of the first things i discovered is that to get maximum usefulness out of the 605 you will need to hand over more of your hard earn cash. these include cinema plug ins, web browser around 20 ... ...it will fit. The provided archos case is a little lame but helps protect the screen from scratches and provides storage for a single stylus. Overall I am pleased with my purchase, the archos is ideal for me as a personal media player, Media station for streaming onto my Tv and as portable Internet browser.
