Sandisk Sansa...........Ipod beater

Advantages: Much easier to use than ipod/itunes, better sound, better software
Disadvantages: Not as many accessories as ipod

Prior to purchasing this MP3 player, I had an ipod nano. I didn't dislike the ipod, but I hated itunes. I find it amazing that Apple have gone out of their way to make it as difficult as possible to add or remove music from an MP3 player. The Sansa on the other hand is simplicity itself, when it is plugged into your computer, it is seen as any other storage device, and music is added or removed by simply sending music to the item, or deleting it, ...
...is that it has a slot for a micro SD card, I have a 2GB card installed, which boosts the memory to 6GB for only the cost of the card. Unfortunately, my Sansa being a couple of years old, will not accept the newer and larger SDHC card, so 2GB is my maximum, I do not know if the newer Sansa's take the SDHC card, but if they do, these cards are available in much larger sizes. With the 6GB I have available, I have 1500 songs on my player. The Sansa ...

Cheap alternative to today's iPod driven world?

Advantages: Good battery life, easy pc connection and uploading facilities, good sound quality
Disadvantages: not a great design, ugly looking interface

...charger. USB only. The proprietary Sandisk connector means you can't use a standard miniUSB charger. Video conversion loses sound sync. Buttons are a little fiddly. Note to new users. The Sansa needs a flash update to cure some instability. I had a lock up which required the battery to be removed to force a reset. Flashing the firmware has solved this and I've had no problems since. ...

Good in theory, but unreliable

Advantages: Easy to use, cheap, looks good
Disadvantages: unreliable, constantly crashing

I got the E280 for xmas 2007 so I've had a good 4 months to get used to it and I can say that it is a very good mp3 player. The interface is very easy to use and putting music on there is just a simple case of drag and drop, brilliant! It does get more confusing when you want to add films but after a few goes you'll get the hang of it. The video player is good, I do find the screen a bit small for movies but a good size for animations like Simpsons ...
...to fast forward a bit faster than 2x speed. The main problem I find is that it is very tempremental. I often get it randomly crashing either when I am listening to music or when I am copying music to it and, even though I have unplugged it from my computer, it still says "writing" and may well stay like that for a long time. The longest I've left it is 30 mins without resetting it. I also find the lowest volume setting too loud. I know this sounds ...

ipod nano ; the clear winner

Advantages: good quality music player
Disadvantages: battery life

i got bought this ipod for my birthday , i reckon and it's one of the best things i've ever been bought! i got bought the 8gb , which was enough room to get over 1000 songs and from my point of view , was enough to fit all my songs in i think that the battery life may not be that good , as you have to charge is ever 2 days but if you turn the settings down , like the brightness and black light you wont have to charge as much from my point of view ...

Great device when youīre on the move!

Advantages: Good screen, large storage space, nice case
Disadvantages: Menus slow to navigate

...this to replace my old vosonic VP6230 drive, as the battery life was getting poor and it only had an 80GB hard drive. The VP8860 takes up to a 500GB drive, which is what mine is fitted with. Compared to my old drive, the screen is fantastic - 4.3 inches. Itīs got a larger range of functions, though I canīt say that I find it very easy to navigate the menus. It weighs around 450g. The driveīs main function is to backup and store files and photos. ...
...a SD/MMC card slot. The system for doing this is fairly straightforward - a prompt comes up when you put the card in, asking you whether you want to back-up or not, and cards are then backed up to the backup folder. The drive can also be connected to a computer via USB. I found this drive considerably quicker at backing up my SD cards than the older drive, and copying files to and from a computer hard drive is also fairly quick. It slows down a lot ...
