Hitachi CX68 MP3/CD + Radio - Tough Little Beast Advantages: Good tone quality, looks, reliability and functions Disadvantages: no cassette player facility ...my wife pointed to the Hitachi CX68 saying how good looking it was with it's round, blue-lit window on the front that indicated radio stations or CD information, depending on what was being played. I noticed that it also played MP3s, and that I thought, would be great if I wanted to download music from the internet. I've never tried it, but apparently, you can get loads more MP3 tracks on one CD than you can with conventional tracks. But one thing ... ...the extras. My Hitachi is played every day and is holding out quite well to the way I "punish" it. I do use a lens cleaner because from what I can understand, a laser operates through a small internal lens and reads the CD. In all CD players, this lens can get minute particles of dust on it and can cause the CD to malfunction, like skipping tracks etc. I think I've got this right. DAB radio with stereo speakers and a good price. Advantages: Excellent features, good stereo speakers. Includes FM. Disadvantages: Ugly as sin. No proper carry handle. Could use more connectors. The Hitachi TRK100 gives good sound from its built-in stereo speakers, lacking on many other DAB radios. It's fairly easy to use, and is mains/battery operated. But it is ugly, even more than most DAB radios! I bought this because I wanted to enjoy more channels than FM could provide, mainly for use with headphones at my work desk. I use a pair of Philips noise-cancelling headphones with it, and the resulting sound is rich and powerful, very satisfying. ... ..."Virgin" sounds ghastly. The Hitachi has an FM radio included, so you can select the analogue FM channels for those stations you can receive locally, for example most of the BBC stations, and enjoy significantly better sound quality on Radio 1. It's good to have the option. However it's only a basic FM tuner, no RDS channel identification or features are included, but there are 10 preset channels. Wake me up before you go go Advantages: loud, and has two alarms Disadvantages: quite big in size After failing to get up three mornings in a row I felt it was high time to purchase another alarm clock, preferably one with a fog horn attached to it! So I hot footed it down to my local curry’s with a budget of £10. There weren’t many to choose from in this price bracket but one really caught my attention, it was a clock radio with a mirror front so I could scare myself into getting up by just looking in the mirror!!! Features ------------------- ... ...with a battery back up , my previous one was just battery operated and I could never be bothered to keep buying new batteries. -Dual alarm, which means it has two built in alarms which gives me twice the chance of waking up. -Built in AM/FM radio which is great for listening to whilst pottering about plus if you set it to really loud and use it as the alarm it don’t half wake you up with a jolt- perfect! No more zzzzzzzzz for me! Advantages: It wakes me up! Disadvantages: The buzzer alarm is a tad intrusive! ...and came across the: HITACHI KC55 ALARM CLOCK RADIO *WHAT DOES IT LOOK LIKE?* In a word....podgy. I know that is a really odd thing to say about an alarm clock radio, but look at the picture above! That is podgy to me! The clock is a good size, you can get both your hands around it and is not that heavy. It is grey in colour all over, except for the front which has a black face so the time on the clock stands out better. A brilliant set of speakers! Advantages: loud, bass, good looking Disadvantages: fragile This set of speakers i bought from amazon a few years back. they are truly brilliant i used them a lot for use with my ipod classic and brothers ipod mini and they had great sounds. recently the dock snapped off it.
