Pure Digital Evoke 3 DAB Radio - top sound for a portable radio
Advantages: Great sound, great features, record to SD card Disadvantages: Can't record one station whilst listening to another, no MW and not the most intuitive to use.
I pondered for ages trying to decide between the Roberts RD55 and Pure's Evoke 3 as I wanted something that had functionality to pause and rewind, record (specifically to SD card), play FM stations, have stereo sound and play MP3's as well as one that gave great sound and could carry base and wouldn't distort at high volumes but I couldn't find anywhere on the net that compared the 2. I knew the Evoke 3 had won loads of awards but that was in 2006 ... ...moved on so the newer RD55 could have improved or equal quality sound without having won any awards. In the end I realised the only option was to actually go into a shop and listen to the sound for myself (having a baby I'd put off doing that as it can be such a mission to get out these days!). The only local shop I found that had a good selection of DAB radios didn't stock the RD55 or the Evoke 3 but instead informed me that the Roberts RD25 was ...

Take a Siesta today
Advantages: Neat clock radio, well made, nice features, eco-friendly. DAB+ upgradeable. Disadvantages: Display viewing angle is fairly narrow.
Pure Digital Siesta: What is it?
This is a digital radio alarm clock that can receive both DAB (Digital Audio Broadcast) radio and FM radio stations. It's quite neat and comes in three different colours, black, charcoal and silver. When you first switch on the unit it goes through an automatic setup routine and tunes in all the DAB radios stations it can find. This autotune can also be run at any time again through one of the menu options.
... ...the Pure products I've looked at, style is something that they take a lot of time and effort over, and I have to say that I like the look of the Siesta. It's a very neat little unit measuring 17cm wide, 14.5cm deep, and 6.2cm high. The shape is a type of half oval, with the display in the centre of the front face, and all the control buttons on the top near the front. The front face screen is gloss black in all the models, with the rest of the housing ...

The Start of The Digital Era...
Advantages: Great Value, Good Features, Fantastic Quality Sound Disadvantages: Silly Placement of the Mains Plug At The Back
...your home alone.
The Pure One Digital DAB Radio is the first and only DAB radio I have owned, you’ve got to move with the times right? I had been thinking about purchasing one for a while after hearing good things about this little radio and have now been enjoying it for about 6 months.
The Pure One comes in a choice of 3 colours; black, pink and white. I would have loved to have brought the pink one as it’s a cute pastel colour, but opted for ... ...I was planning on using the radio in my office and most of my colleagues already think I’m a bit OTT with pink!
The radio itself I picked up from HMV for £39.99. It came in a simple box packaging with a leaflet with instruction. Although I have never needed to look at these as the radio is extremely easy to use and programme. The design and layout are very simple and stylish and mean it pretty simple to understand what the 7 buttons do.
There are ...

Good quality DAB radio
Advantages: clear sound, stylish Disadvantages: none
I bought a black one of these radios about two years ago now. I have found mine to be absolutely brilliant. With this radio you can use the DAB band and also FM. When I first got the radio, I could only receive FM where I was in scotland. The FM works just as well as the DAB. As for radio stations, there is a wide choice. There are the usual national ones like Radio 1 and many local ones depending on where you are. I think there are stations which ... ...to classical music and pop to more asian type music. On this radio, the only thing that I wish it had is an alarm feature, but you cant really have everything can you? There is a handy little timer thing. This allows you to set a time from 15 to 90 minutes and will switch off itself. In the past I found this really handy. I also think that this radio is really stylish with its silver buttons. As well as coming in black, it comes in pink and white. ...
