I would imagine that almost everyone has used a Post it Note in their life – some more so than others. I remember when they were almost all square in shape and the colour choice was not as wide or varied as it is now. Now they can be found in all manner of different shapes and various sizes and colours to choose from.
These sticky little bits of coloured paper are available in most stationery outlets, newsagents, supermarkets and just about everywhere you can imagine. They are useful for a wide range of purposes and simple and easy to use. We have a few of the multicoloured packs at home right now but they can also be bought in single colours if preferred.I personally use these sticky notes to remind myself or family of things we need to do. We have the remains of a 100 pack of multicoloured notes by our phone in the kitchen, together with either a pen or pencil, just to jot things down. This will then invariably be left on our refrigerator and then removed once the ‘job’ has been completed.
The notes have a small sticky strip on the rear of each one. They do generally speaking, stick reasonably well to most smooth surfaces, though they will fall down occasionally, especially if the weather is warm or the central heating is up to high.We also use these notes around our home with various words written on the front such as ‘door’, ‘step’, table’ etc., so that the children can associate these words with various items and familiarize themselves with words. We feel that this makes it fun way for them to learn simple easy words early on.
The children also occasionally use Post it Notes for their own home made art ‘projects’ and they love to choose form the wide variety of colours available to them.I also use Post it Notes for work as I coach basketball I will ask my students to write down various coaching / team playing terms / ideas / strategies on a note and stick these to a whiteboard. I am never without a pack of Post it Notes and although they are something which I feel we all now take for granted and don’t really think about too often, they are indispensable and have been a great invention.
I recommend them totally.
