Powercolor HD4850

Advantages: good performance, keeps relatively cool
Disadvantages: it's not the 5770

Well, when building my gaming rig a year ago I came across a problem, I needed a graphics card and only had £100 to spend... The 4870 was still £150 and I saw one of these going on an auction site just under budget, "nice" I thought and bought it. The Catalyst drivers were pretty easy to install (though I had to update to the latest version to get a second desktop running, and ATi's catalyst program isn't recommended for those that are new to computing) It arrived and worked, but got extremely hot (by the time I'd got all the other equopment It was out of it's 30 days' warranty), I ran it with my case side open and found that the fan never span on it (Turns out the motor had burnt out from some idiot overclocking it) so I fitted a third party cooler and she runs like a dream now. I can watch full HD on a 32" TV I have, and have a 2nd ...

Radeon HD 4850

Advantages: high performance
Disadvantages: dual slot solution

I wear sapphire Radeon HD 4850 does not have symptoms that are less satisfying just need a place more than one slot for the installation for the conditioner for graphics processors is greater than the factory recommendation. Viewed in terms of performance sapphire radeon HD 4850 does not disappoint because it has a high-end GPU AMD RV770 which has the stream processors to reach 800 units so that when used on large or resolution 1280 x 1024 pixels does not occur, which means the barriers to a game or graphics application. in terms of the assumption of power Sapphira Radeon HD 4850 has a 55 nm technology, so the assumption is relatively low power so that stability in the GPU performance of loading data and the GPU temperature is relatively stable ...

Review of Sapphire RADEON HD 4850

HD 4850 MADE ME SWITCH LOYALTY AT LONG LAST FROM NVIDIA TO ATI

Advantages: Solid performance for price, great display driver utility, multi-gpu capable, HD looks amazing
Disadvantages: Sometimes, display driver shows that core temp gets high, but hey I am constantly pushing the card

For as long as I can remember I have been an NVIDIA/GEFORCE customer. Many years ago I did try an ATI card but I was very disappointed with its performance, and that was when I decided to shut the door on ATI graphics. Since then, I had upgraded my graphics card to a Geforce 6800, 7800, 8600, and most recently the 8800 GT. Being an avid gaming enthusiast, I was very pleased with the 8800 GT and it was only by sheer bad luck (looking back it was a blessing in disguise) that I ended up upgrading to the ATI HD 4850. One stormy night I had a terrible power surge, and found my computer dead, with a fried psu, mobo, cpu, and graphics card. So I had to rebuild my computer, and started shopping around for a new card. Being a prudent and careful shopper, I did some research on new cards and found some benchmark tests that compared ...
