I bought an angle grinder from www.screwfix.com for £15. Its quite noisy, but it works fine. I've read that cheap power tools are OK when they are relatively simple, but not so great if they have a lot of moving parts. This is just a motor and a switch so there is less to go wrong than with something like a jigsaw. The downside with a cheap angle grinder is that with a disk rotating at 10000rpm, if something does go wrong, its going to go wrong very badly indeed.
So far I've used it with a stone cutting disk to trim floor tiles. Its much easier to do this than with a hand file or a tile saw. Don't try to use it to trim wood as it just burns the wood.
