Advantages: Very reasonably priced, does what it is meant to do. Disadvantages: Basic user guide.
Review of B&Q Value 3.6v Screwdriver Set This is a change of subject matter for me as I usually review food products, books, DVDs, toiletries and the like, but having purchased this last week I was so impressed that I felt I wanted to share my experiences. The Product and Why I Bought It I am reviewing a rechargeable, cordless screwdriver from the B&Q 'Value' range. Although not usually 'into' DIY, my partner and I are tackling two projects currently, ... ...wrapper bears the product description, B&Q logo, a line drawing image of the screwdriver, product specifications, B&Q guarantee and company contact information. The actual screwdriver nestles within the case, the shape is pistol-like, with a comfortable grip and easily operated on/off buttons. It is constructed from a robust black plastic material with grey buttons. The set has eight assorted screw 'bits', 4 of each type, flat and the 'Phillips' ...
Advantages: Cheap, avoids over tightening and splitting of wood, comes with a protective case Disadvantages: Poor battery life, "garish" colours, some useless features (the tape and torch)
...several ‘power’ tools made by Black & Decker. I do not enjoy DIY and I don’t think I ever will, since it’s just not me. Despite my dislike for it DIY is something that has to be done so any tools available that make my life easier are all good in my book.
Browsing through the shelf I noticed the HP9048K, which is a 4.8V cordless electric screwdriver made by Black & Decker. Whilst erecting the wooden summerhouse (or glorified shed) I never once lost this tool, unlike other manual screwdrivers. The bright orange colour was easily identifiable against the grass and in the ‘pick up and put down, pick up and put down’ way of putting the summerhouse together I was actually thankful for this since I didn’t have to scrabble around ...
Advantages: Lightweight, easy to use, effective Disadvantages: Probably not robust enough for a 'serious' handyman
I do love my gadgets especially those that I can use for DIY around the house. I believe that if I am going to save money by doing the job myself it makes sense to have a good range of tools to help me in my work.
I wanted a little cordless screwdriver to replace an old one that had just about given up the ghost so I went for a wander around B&Q to see what was on offer.
Features
Personally I didn't want anything too fancy, just a simple screwdriver ... ...to pay too much either so I avoided the more expensive brands. Although this wasn't the cheapest screwdriver on offer it did come complete with a canvas case containing 40 screwdriver bits which was what swung it for me. The 40 bits include philips head, pozidrive and straight as well as star, hexagonal, nut drivers and socket adaptors and the canvas case also has a thing to attach it to a belt.
The screwdriver is powered by a Lithium rechargeable ...
