Almost 12 Years and Still going strong

Advantages: Great coverage of the wrestling world, best wrestling magazine around
Disadvantages: Subscription problems! Also sometimes a little too negative

Powerslam.

Does the name ring a bell? I doubt it. Although it’s a mainstream magazine sold at WH Smiths and most newsagents I doubt, unless you’re a wrestling fan, you’d of even heard of this magazine let alone read any issue. Well let me tell you your missing out, although I might be a bit biased since I am one of the biggest wrestling fans on ciao.

Powerslam is a monthly magazine sold in the UK. It covers all ...
...That means it’s not full of the propaganda the WWE magazines have (e.g. in one WWE magazine they tried convincing the reader that Brock Lesnar vs. Bob Holly was the greatest Royal Rumble main event of all time!). Instead it covers all the major and minor American, Japanese and British wrestling feds, including WWE (obviously), ROH, NWA:TNA, NJPW, NOAH, FWA, NWA: UK Hammerlock, and several years ago it covered WCW, ECW, XPW, SMVW, and others. Pretty ... more

Triple H is still my favourite, so there

Advantages: Nice paper, great articles, all round TDB.
Disadvantages: Some of the newer contributors take time to settle in.

Power Slam, and it's forerunner, Superstars of Wrestling, have been at the forefront of British wrestling publications for years. Currently upto the 88th issue of it's run, and packed from cover to cover with interviews, articles, news and gossip, this monthly magazine is surely the best on the shelves today, and at just £2.45, doesn't leave too sizeable a dint in your wallet. Unlike other magazines, such as Raw or WWF Magazine, Power Slam has no ...
...preceding the demise of WCW, Power Slam had reviews of every single Pay-Per-View (PPV) event they broadcast, and charted the group's steady commercial and artistic freefall graphically. Despite letters accusing them of pro-WWF bias, there position was clear - if WCW improved, they would have been happy to inform readers. That it didn't is now obvious. Starting with a comprehensive results section, featuring the goings-on on all the major groups ...

PowerSlam Magazine

Advantages: Very informative, Easy to follow
Disadvantages: Not enough pages for your money

Powerslam, currently on issue 105, is in my opinion the premier wrestling magazine in the UK at this moment in time. Powerslam is widely available from a number of local shops but not in any supermarkets that I am aware of however, it if available from most branches of WH Smith. It’s understandable that a wrestling magazine isn’t available everywhere because wrestling isn’t as popular as it previously was. But, if you venture into WH Smith and feel ...
...buy the latest issue of Powerslam. When looking for Powerslam it’s not hard to spot. The distinct bold pink and white POWERSLAM splashed across the header accompanied by a picture of a wrestler currently in the main light and a list of the months main articles. This month we were treated to a picture of the recently returned Stone Cold Steve Austin. The pictures continue throughout the magazine but monthly there are full spread pictures on the inside ...

The hardest hitting wrestling magazine in the UK

Advantages: NO Holds Barred Wrestling News
Disadvantages: Not for the casual fan

Powerslam magazine is, in my opinion, the best wrestling magazine around in the U.K. It holds unbiased views on the past months worth of wrestling. Unlike WWE magazine, it has information on all brands of wrestling, from WWE to TNA,IWW,ROH and Japan. There may be sarcastic comments with each picture, but that just adds another dimension to this fantastic magazine. There are articles that are written about the writers experiences, such as a trip ...
...readers to write in and ask questions about wrestling. there are 'Signs of the Month' and also dates of the big events in wrestling. A good column in the magazine is written by the 'heel' writer, Stately Wayne Manor. In it, he gives his opinion on all things wrestling, written in the characteristics of a wrestling heel. The value for money is good, depending on how valuable you think the information is. The cost is £2.90 (A lot for such a thin ...

Powerslam... Less biased

Advantages: Covers many feds
Disadvantages: Content

Yeah, it may lack a little here and there but the thing I enjoy most about Powerslam is that (a) it's short enough for me to read in WH Smith without actually having to by it & (b) It contains more honesty than any of the WWE publications which are some of the greatest works of fiction I have ever read ! Another plus point is the spanning of many federations which means I don't have to buy lots of mags to keep up to speed with the latest goings on ...

Power Slam Mag

Advantages: packed with inside information
Disadvantages: only once a month

Typically british insider wrestling magazine. Doesn't hold back with the critisism which is very amusing. It has the right blend of great information and comedy observations. Always look forward to it landing on my doormap once a month. Would be even better if it had competitions i.e. win WWE tickets or dvd's. The articles are all written well and i love all the phtos from the independant circuit and Japan etc. Always a quality poster on the centre ...
