Don’t you just hate it when something goes wrong with the car and you haven’t got the right bit to sort it, or even attempt to sort it? Such is life that this happens to me all the time or at least it used too. I still get caught out occasionally with the big expensive bits but in general for screws and those funny-headed gizmos that keep some secret part of the engine running I’ve now got them sussed.
About 18 months ago my old Rover had a problem ... ...a part called the igniter, which was held onto the distributor by 4 funny-headed screws. Not wanting to risk faffing about with an ordinary screwdriver and ending up with a totally botched head to the screws I shifted myself across to good old Maplin’s and coughed up my £9.99 (You can get it cheaper on the net if you exclude P+P)
