Advantages: Slim, light and stylish. Also a lot of megapixels for the price. Disadvantages: Frequently blurred images and flash is sometimes too bright or too dim
The Praktica DC Slim 5 has a lot of features for the price. I got one for Christmas and I only asked for a cheap basic digital camera so when I opened the DC Slim I was pleasantly surprised! The 5.1 megapixels are great for good quality photos, and the movie mode is handy too. I've had a lot of fun with that although the sound quality is very poor and you have to be shouting to be heard if you are more that a couple of metres from the camera! The ... ...out in the street/pub etc to impress your mates. You'd never guess the cost from the way it looks. It also feels sturdy and reliable but I've only had it a couple of weeks so I wouldn't know for the long term.

...cheap & basic machine. the praktica dc5 slim certainly fits the bill on both counts but i still cant help but feel a little disappointed with its overall performance. true the size of it is brilliant, it really is a pocket sized camera and the size of the monitor is fantastic. on the downside is the amount of batteries it goes through. it really does gobble them up, if you are the type of person that takes lots of photos then i would definitely not ... ...when you use the flash, it seems to take an age before it is ready to take another photo. before anyone writes a comment that i havent covered this or that feature, please remember that i am an occasional photo taker and other additional features are of little importance to me. the quality of the picture isnt fantastic but i suppose you get what you pay for. for me personally, the fact that it can store over 100 picture with the memory card means ...

Advantages: easy to use Disadvantages: very slow
I worked in a well known camera shop for over six months, and these used to be our best selling camera's and I'll tell you what I have got no idea why.
I bought myself one and as soon as I started using it on a regular basis, and not just demonstrating to customers. I was utterly disapointed, the camera is very slow and the batteries always run out very quickly, turning on the flash makes the camera more a less die on you.
This camera is ideal ... ...of 10 do not buy this camera, it is so frustratingly slow it gets on your nerves.
The photos when they are developed aren't very good at all, because you have to sit at the pod for nearly half an hour reducing the red eye on the photos.
However if you are looking for a camera that is cheap, and would only use it a few times a year, for holidays and birthday's then this camera might be ok for you. But if you take quite a few photos like I do when ...
