My partner John and I have a three year old son who wasn't planned. When we deiced to try and extend our family this time round we decided to everything the right way round. Take folic acid for three months prior to starting etc...
Anyway seven months down the line and every month when my period was later by a day I shelled out a fortune on pregnanacy tests only to be disapointed and to get my period an hour later.
This time around, i decided to buy this Predictor test from my local Body Care shop. Priced at 3.99 for one or 5.99 for two I thought it was a bargain. I only bought the single because i decided you only need one at a time...and I am a tight Yorkshire women living with a tight Sottish man and like to save my pennies.
Anyway off I popped to the Overgate Center in Dundee to do the test. The packet consised off a foil wrapped stick and a set of instructions. I found you didnt have to read the instructions as the picture message was clear enough. There are three little boxes on the test stick itself. The two smaller tester boxes and the results box. If you get a pink dot in the test sample you have used your test correctly. If you get a pink dot in the results window...guess what?? Your pregnant. However a pink dot doesn't mean a pink baby (girl) as I teased my partner.!!
Anyway as with other tests you hold the pen like stick in your flow for 5 seconds and then remove. With this test you put the lid back on the stick and watch and wait. You can see the flow of liquid move up through the test boxes and sure enough my pink dot showed in the test box. Great I thought! The result box remained wet with the sample but no dots. I reread the instructions which said a result can take four minutes. So I sorted myself out in the toilet and returned to look at the test stick. In the result box was started to form a very faint dot. Oh God, I thought.
I turned it back over while I got my coat and everything on, fully expecting it to dissapear. When I turned the test over again, the dot was definelty still there. Yikes!!!
So I stuck it in my handbag and walked out. the instructions says, the test was 97% accurate. The hormone that they look for is only found in pregnant women. Needless to say I am only a few weeks pregnant but over the moon. We haven't told anyway yet so I hope non of my family ciao.
The test itself is cheap and very easy to use. Its more affordable than other brands and does exactly the same job. I have seen the same test in Boots for 5.99 for the single so would reccommend that you look around to find it in cheap stores. Afterall its only the results your interested in.
A well reccommended product....especially as it gave me the result I wanted. Thanks for reading.
