most pregnancy tests available on the market these days do exactly the same as each other it is just that you pay a lot more for testers that tell you in words that you are pregnant or tell you that you are so many days pregnant, this in my opinion is a total waste of money when they all do the same job which is basically testing for an increase in a hormone in your urine, after all why pay £15 for a stick you are going to piddle on and throw away when you can get a very similar stick from your chemist for around £1 for a pack of two or 3 and are the exact same ones used by the nurse at your doctors surgery.
Read your instructions on your pack carefuly as the timing on different tests is different but the basics are still the same, you need to test after the first day that your period was due as this is the earliest time that most tests will show an increase in your hormone level, once you have put the tester into a urine sample for the required time, 5 seconds with my strip from the chemist you then need to waite the required amount of minutes for an accurate result,
A lot of people panic when they see a line appear quite quickly on the tester, this is perfectly normal as it appears to tell you the test is working, you need to waite the required time which was 3 minutes with mine to see if a second line appears on the tester, if it does then you are pregnant.
If you get a negative result only 1 line and still havent gotten your period in a weeks time i would advise testing again as it may be that your hormone level wasnt high enough to be detected so a negative result can sometimes be misleading but there is little point retesting if you get a positive result as the only time the hormone will be detected is if you are pregnant.
Some of the mothers i know kept there testers as a little momento but mine went in the bin, the thought of keeping something i had piddled on didnt appeal to me at all.
How helpful would this review be to a person making a buying decision? Rating guidelines
I think the review needs to be more detailed and structured better. I've never used a pregnancy test, and your review doesn't leave me anymore informed about any of the products on the market. I think the tone in which you write your review is a bit off-putting, and it's not very pleasant to read because of the lack of structure and lack of capitalised letters at the start of sentences! I can't think why some people have rated this "very helpful"
