Tresemme Fibre Putty

Advantages: Brilliant, with a cracking smell
Disadvantages: Can leave a stick residue on your hands

Here's a little styling beauty. From the good people at Tresemme, this is their "Create" Fibre Putty. Available in all good stockists, and some rubbish ones as well...actually, probably only good ones! This hair product comes in a 150ml/129g transparent tub, complete with black screw lid. Being made by Tresemme, you would expect the standard of this product to be almost second to none, and on first impressions it certainly is. Upon opening the tub, the first thing that strikes you is the delicious smell. It's a sweet, fruity kind of smell which I can't quite put my finger on, but it's something I'm a big fan of. Over time, naturally the smell deteriorates, but it still lingers the further you get through the white putty. According to the tub, the product "creates and holds lasting messed up effect," which I think sums it up ...

Optical amazing!

Advantages: Amazing customer service
Disadvantages: The equipment isn't as hi tech as other places

So after having an eye test at D&A and being scared off by the prices, I booked myself into Optical Express which is where Andrew gets his contacts from. The price of the eyetest was half the price of D&A (£15) to start with and if you purchased glasses afterwards then it would automatically be free. The eye test didn?t seem as hi-tech or extensive as D&A and nor did the equipment seem as up-to-date but the optician was friendly, made conversation and was just a genuinely nice guy and whats more important, the test results came back the same as they did at D&A; I need glasses and I have a stigmatism. The staff here are absolutely amazing and I can?t praise them highly enough. They were not only friendly and personal but they also couldn?t do enough to please me. There were four ladies in the shop and they were all helping me choose ...

knit today ... knit tomorrow

Advantages: freebies, full colour examples, discount vouchers & events
Disadvantages: cant buy in every newsagent, £3.45 per issue unless subcribe

Being a sad, sad indivdual I was keen to learn knitting at a very young age. We were all gathered together in the main hall at school in year 4 and asked what we wanted to do for 'technology'. Options included lollypop stick models, paper mache, sewing, face painting and knitting. Never guess who was the only one who put their hand up for knitting. That would have been moi. I must have been a rather depressed young girl as I had thought at the time I'm going to get old one day and will need to know how to knit. The others only seemed interested in what they where doing now, and how bored they were (i.e. gluing iceicle sticks to Mrs Bumbles backside). The plus side was that i could use as much of the wool as i wanted which was great as i kept making silly mistakes and got really tangled. It took ages to perfect, i could never get ...
