"Euston hotel"

Price and Availability

Me and my friend planned a trip to London on the 3rd - 6th November 2012. Because we're students we needed somewhere local to all the things we wanted to do but in a reasonable price range as well. We choose Euston hotel simply because we could book the room and pay when we got there because we got paid at the end of the month so it was ideal for us both. We booked This for three nights and we worked out that it was cheaper for us to share a double bed even though they are family friendly and have rooms with multiple beds it's cheaper to have one double so for three nights we paid £380 between us.

We booked this not really knowing how close it was to anything we want to do. It turns out that this is located on a street between Pancras station and Euston station so it's on the line of the busy tube stations connecting London and the wider train lines connecting London to Britain so it was really easy to actually reach the hotel itself. We discovered as well when we took a late night sight seeing work to scope out the area it was just a 40 minute walk to west minister to see big Ben and all the other buildings and along the way is a cinema, shops, cafe's and restaurants so we were really lucky with the placement of this.
Checking In

Euston travel Inn is a premier Inn hotel so everything is purple which makes this hotel easy to spot, when we walked in the reception was small and to the point rather than it being really grand like you would expect for London. There were two staff members stood on the desks who asked us if we would like to check into our room via the machines on the wall, us none the wiser said we didn't know how to use them so the nice man took us through our check in, the machines were more efficient than standing and waiting at a desk and it prints the card keys which we have to have to open any door as well, after two minutes we were checked in.

The reception was quite small with some toilets located inside. As we walked around the corridor on the left hand side was the hotels restaurant and costa coffee bar which was an actual costa shop as well which was something I had never seen before. The hotel had both lifts and stairs and we decided to use the stairs most of the time while we was here simply because we wanted to keep them free for wheelchair users. We kept walking the wrong way and getting lost down the corridors to our room despite the door numbers being clearly marked everyday we always ended up on a fire exit for some reason because we took a wrong turning.
The room

In the room we had a double bed, a desk, bed side cabinates, a large wardrobe which had a mirror and various other shelves on including a TV, we also had a sofa and then our bathroom. The bed I thought was too firm but they provided plenty of extra fluffy pillows which made up for it. The sofa came in handy when we just wanted to throw our things everywhere. The room itself was spacious and laid out well and I was pleased we could actually watch the TV and it not cost anything extra which was what I was used too in other various hotels. The first thing we did when we arrived was get in bed and start watching star wars. In the bathroom they provided self soap dispensers which I thought was a good idea because it stops people stealing their shampoo's etc.

We had a lot of things planned so we didn't get to use much of what the hotel may of had to offer, they had their own restaurant and costa coffee shop and although we could of got cheaper meals/room service we didn't use any of their food options simply because we was too busy, the only thing we knew that they provided as an extra service was they have a customer service room in which are lots of irons and ironing boards which a staff member kindly helped us find.
Local area

This hotel is in a really convenient place, Along the walk towards west minister, there are galleries, shopping streets, odeon cinema which we did go too, there are lots of restaurants as well as fast food places too really close by. We also passed downing street, the palace, the abbey, London eye, st James park and lots of other things so this hotel is really local to all the things the Thames has to offer as well as the surrounding area.
