The Case of the Boozy Caboose Part One
Review of Casablanca Lager by Newfloridian

Advantages: Gets you out of your armchair even if its only as far as the fridge. A new taste
Disadvantages: Not one of the best

...of this brew. Casablanca Beer is brewed in that city by Brasseries du Maroc. Part of the “Société Brasseries du Maroc (SBM) it is the leader on the beverage market in Morocco. It offers a wide range of products, either own-brand (Sidi Harazem, Casablanca, etc.) or under franchised brands (Coca-Cola, Schweppes, etc.) through its subsidiary Société Centrale des Boissons Gazeuses. SBM has 7 bottling units and 3 breweries and runs a bottling and distribution ...

The Lord of the Ringnes
Review of Ringnes Gold by proxam

Advantages: Not expensive
Disadvantages: Not very good

...this review is about, is Ringnes Gold, a pilsner-style lager. Want to know more? then check out their website http://www.ringnes.no/ Meanwhile... A Buddhist walks into a bar and orders a pint. The landlord pours him a one saying, "That'll be £2.60." The Buddhist hands him a tenner and waits. And waits. After a while, the Buddhist asks: "Oi, where's my change?" The landlord replies: "Change must come from within." Back to the beer... This beer pours ...
...with plenty of carbonation forming a constant stream of tiny bubbles. These form a thinnish, white head which soon disappears and leaves next to nothing in the way of a lace effect. The aroma isn't exactly 'full-on'. In fact, in trying to detect some hoppy essence, I sniffed so hard I darn-near snorted the stuff. There's a bit of grain and the very faintest hint of grassy hops, but trying to detect any decent beery aroma was just far too much of ... Read review

I wouldn't give a Moosehead for anything else
Review of Moosehead Canadian Lager by proxam

Advantages: It's not terrible
Disadvantages: Uninspired

...I will mostly be reviewing MOOSEHEAD LAGER I've already reviewed a couple of Canadian beers and, it has to be said, not exactly favourably. To be fair, they were beers from big brewing concerns and could easily fall under the heading, Anybeer from Anywhere. So, will it be third time lucky? Will I discharge the poison ink from my pen and don my rose-tinted specs? Will I shut the feck up and just get on with it? Maybe... I'm not using a pen... I don't ...
...The Moosehead Brewery has been in the Oland family for 6 generations. I know this because I read the firm's history on their website. I'd advise you to do the same - this must have been one of the unluckiest group of people around in the 19th century and it makes quite entertaining reading. It all started back in 1865, when John James Dunn Oland and his wife Susannah made the long trek, along with their seven children, from England to Nova Scotia. ... Read review

A patriotic brew
Review of Samuel Adams Boston Lager by Newfloridian

Advantages: Good round bodied full flavoured American beer
Disadvantages: You may have to look for it

...Such is the case with Samuel Adams – a lager from Boston. A LITTLE HISTORY Puritan colonists from England founded a settlement at the mouth of the Charles River north of the town of Plymouth in Massachusetts in 1631. Initially called Trimountain it soon became known as Boston – from the town of their origin. The brewery’s website notes with some irony that one of the reasons the pilgrims decided to land at Plymouth Rock is they were running out ...

He was a leader of the revolutionaries “The Sons of Liberty” and is reputed to have been the architect of the Boston Tea Party. Adams was a cousin of John Adams who became President of the United States. THE BREWERY The site of the Samuel Adams Brewery ... Read review
