A POPular appliance in my house.

Advantages: Healthier, good value for money, clean and safe.
Disadvantages: The popcorn goes EVERYWHERE!

...maker I got was a Prima Hot Air Popcorn Maker. It came in a white cuboid box, with a picture of the machine on the side, spilling popcorn out of its chute.

We tipped out the contents on to the kitchen table. Each part of the popcorn maker was individually wrapped, to ensure hygiene. (You should have all these parts. If you’re missing something, take your popcorn maker back to the shop it was purchased from with your warranty, and ...

The main body of the appliance can’t be submerged in water, but as it is made of plastic, it can fortunately be wiped clean after use. The base is rubber, so it won’t slip on a work surface.

Once you pop, you just cant stop!

Advantages: Diet friendly quick snack
Disadvantages: Can end up everywhere!

I would never have considered buying a popcorn maker... I assumed it would be one of those things that sound all exciting... gets used continuously for a month then gathers dust at the back of the cupboard, but I was SO wrong! My brother was offloading stuff before moving and offered me this little gem. I thought what the hey, a month of free popcorn is worth dusting and cupboard space for years. After smuggling it back home on the train, I pulled ...
...binned the box.... my brother will keep any old rubbish! He's had it a few years... its not like he's going to take it back... sorry if your reading it, but you do! If you are interested, it came in a white box with a pretty picture of the popcorn maker on it. It was a nice snug fit so at least it wasn't taking up too much space to take home. The popcorn maker comes in 3 parts... 1) The base where the popcorn does the magic! A tall white part with ...

Popping fun

Advantages: Its shaped like a duck
Disadvantages: Never quite pops the lot

...This is made by prima and is available from Argos, I think they do do other ones not shaped like a duck. This is an excellent buy and far better quality than the twice as expensive toy. So with christmas coming up it makes a great present and so happy popping. Thanks for reading. ...

Hot popcorn, a video and man of your dreams!!

Advantages: Very easy to clean - even hot melted syrup came off
Disadvantages: Never tastes the same as the cinema's

...one: ITs called the Prima Popcorn maker. It has a great see through lid and hatch. The base is a custard yellow. I like the design. It looks like a little space pod. So my daughter liked it too!! Cooking - You turn it on and pour in a scoop of corns. Then turn the button to HEAT/MIX. It did take about 6 mins to start popping. It took around 10 mins to pop the corns one the first time. Yes it didnt pop them all but you get that in the pre-cooked ...
...my butter in with corns. It coated the corns but gave a burnt brown sweet/salty taste but the kids still ate it. I love cinema popcorn but am yet to make it anything like that. The second time we did it we cooked them and put the butter and syrup in the spoon at the top which melts whilst popping. There is a option where once cooked you can then pour in your flavouring and click to stir and it mixes the flavour in. This also helped them to cook down. ...

Once you've popped, you can't stop

Advantages: Makes yummy popcorn in minutes
Disadvantages: No good for bulk making

PRIMA POPCORN MAKER I bought this a couple of years back and paid a tenner for it in a sale. The kids absolutely adore the popcorn from it, and this normally comes out when they have sales at school. We make popcorn boxes and they sell it for 10p a box. Also it is a very handy accessory to have for sleepovers when you’ve got hordes of kids with stomachs like bottomless pits!! The popcorn make comprises four parts:- a measuring cup/butter dish, ...
...It is very simple to use. Simply place the popping corn into the measuring cup and pour into the popping chamber. Replace the top cover and the cup. The cup forms a “bung” for the popcorn chamber, to stop the popcorn spraying out of the top. Position the collection bowl properly. Plug in and switch on. The popcorn normally takes around 3-4 minutes. Then you can flavour it as you wish, sugar or salt, (sugar for us, can’t bear the salted popcorn) ...

low fat but low taste

Advantages: low fat, quick to make
Disadvantages: tasteless on it's own

I love popcorn, and would probably quite happily eat nothing else! I got this popcorn maker as a gift years ago because of this. All you need is a power socket, a bowl and some popcorn kernels. You put about a palm-full of kernels into the top, switch it on, and it heats the kernels and voila popcorn starts appearing and popping furiously into your bowl. I'm not a fan of sweet or toffee popcorn, it's got to be salted. Unfortunately, no matter how ...
...take to it. You obviously need to cook it with oil before it sticks. Unless you melt some butter and pour it over, you're not going to get any kind of flavouring on it, or of course you could make up some toffee if that's your cup of tea. The result is fairly bland, but hot, popcorn. It's low fat, healthy (unless you coat it with sugar/butter) and like so many things that are good for you, pretty tasteless. ...

Low-fat snack food that's fun to make

Advantages: cheap popcorn, fun to use
Disadvantages: popcorn kernels go everywhere if you're not careful!

A night in with a video has turned into one of my favourite treats, since I discovered the fastest, cheapest way to make a massive bowl of popcorn to accompany me! The popcorn is every bit as good as that expensive microwave stuff with only a fraction of the calories. I've always loved popcorn, but I hate the hassle of heating up oil in a saucepan, and I find that microwave popcorn can be very greasy as well as very expensive. So, I took the plunge and spent £15 on a Prima popcorn maker. I got this one in Argos, but I think the basic machine is also sold under a couple of different names such as Lidl and Hinari. This machine pops the corn by means of hot air rather than oil, so it is very low in fat and also very easy to clean. In use, it is very noisy, rather like a hairdryer. The popcorn kernels are poured in the top, switch ...
