Up until probably 4 years ago all the clothes I bought had designer labels, and you would never have seen me in a store which didn't sell a pair of jeans for under £70. Now it wasn't that I had a high paid job or was from an affluent back ground just that I was fitting in with what I believed to be the expected fashion. In fact I know people who had bought designer clothes and I quietly thought to myself, "wow! They have paid all that money for that one item and it's horrible!!"
I accidently discovered Primark. Well, I wouldn't really say I hadn't heard of it but I hadn't been inside their doors. Until that is the day of my friends birthday. I had picked her up and was treating her to a birthday lunch and some new boots she had her eye on. Now we never usually go over board on birthdays, but as I had just had an increase in my wages I thought she could choose something special this time.
The meal was lovely and very filling. You know the type! Like a Sunday dinner and all you want to do straight after is have a nap while the food is slowly working its way back out. Wont go any further on that matter!!!!!!!!
Anyway through the Primark doors we ventured and looking around I hadnt before realised they sold bedding, and towels, and curtains, as well as clothing which when I examined was surprisingly good value and quality. My friend chose her birthday boots and I bought some underwear for my daughter and I. Two pairs of pyjamas I bought for my daughter which were shorts and vest top, a new dressing gown each for myself and my husband. I was really starting to get carried away now and feeling extremely chuffed with myself for saving lots of money by shopping here!! Underwear, slippers, more underwear, lamp shade, another item of underwear and then to finish up a new duvet bed set for mine and my daughters beds.
I had recovered from the need to sleep after the meal. What I was experiencing now was genuine shoppers exhaustion.
The prices were and are great! Where can you nowadays buy three pairs of socks, childrens and adults, for £1.50, and they last? Ladies black leather boots size 5, £20.00. Mens padded jackets £22.
When I first walked into the store I was a bit hesitant because there was rail after rail of clothes etc, and what they cant get on the rails seems to be put in any space available. This did not cause a problem however and there was nothing placed too high up on racks or shelving where you had to ask for help to retrieve.
When I paid for my goods and the underwear was being scanned the assistant informed me of their no returns accepted on underwear policy which gave me assurance that somebody hadnt previously been wearing my knickers?????? All other items if not required or faulty could be brought back and exchanged or refunded with proof of purchase without any fuss.
I am a big fan of Primark now and the quality of their products in my opinion cannot be beaten, and I havent had the need to return anything up to now.

How Absolutely 'Bang-On' you are about Primark. Great Value - very good quality. So many other so-called 'more upmarket' stores I have come across are most of the at best offering only the same quality but almost invariably for higher prices. Primark is great. My wife and/or myself always come back with a bargain after visiting a Primark store!!

Well done Primark and well done you for ditching expensive over priced things for more of the same styles but cheaper!
Advantages: Good value-lots of reduced items. Essentials at low prices. Disadvantages: Always busy-often long queues. Sometimes hard to find right size.
