Manufacturer's product description
The Micro Orbit has only one button to operate its simulation and copy modes. Masters are read into the internal hard drive through the recorder, eliminating the need for a separate reader. Masters and blanks can be interleaved on the input spindle to allow for batch mode processing. When the system recognizes a new master, it reads it into the hard drive then ejects the master into the output bin and starts recording the next series of blanks until it runs out of media or recognizes a new master in the drive.
Advantages: "works" with Mac and Windows Disadvantages: Too many to list.
...buying a 10-disc duplexer and printing separately. If you're using this just for printing, it still loads the disk into the cd-burner before feeding it into the printer, so again, it is VERY slow
> Reliabiliy.... let's not even go there... in a batch of 40 discs, it stops about 3 or 4 times with "no discs in loader" error... clicking retry magically makes it work... (using Taiyo Yuden media bought from Microboards authorised retailers)
>Manuals... inexistent! After days of bugging their support, a PDF was emailed over...
> Support - rude and unhelpful most of the time. Takes days to get anything out of them
In short? Stay well clear from this product!...

Advantages: Looks nice, software is well appointed. Disadvantages: Unreliable, expensive re-badged cartridges, noisy
...Very poor experience over the last 12 months with the DX-1. Never reached 48 speed CD burn, usually between 16-24x speed. The printer typically lost register on every other disc and in order to use the MB branded rather than HP ink cartridges there's a barcode on each cartridge that increases the cost from £30 to £50.
Not once did this unit burn 100 discs unattended, it typically varied from 4 to 15 discs, requiring manual intervention due to:
a) 'invalid ink cartridge' even though I religiously (stupidly?) stuck with the branded carts.
b) sync cache error very frequent burn fault.
c) discs misfed in the drive tray, requiring the stack to be removed.
d) print transport jumping requiring a restart of the unit.
In spite of running this unit on many different workstations, and with many different media types it never failed...

Advantages: cheap, all in one Disadvantages: only 3 PCI slots
...layer drives in this machine. And when using Alcohol 120% for CD and DVD duplication, I can burn images to each drive at 16X for CD and 8X for DVD (I prefer to use slower speeds for compatiblity and assurance that disks are not damaged in the process, as opposed to faster speeds for bragging rights).
The nice about this mainboard (which I think is standard, but I have come across mainboards that did not have this feature) is that I could install a video or sound card and the onboard card is automatically disabled, (or easily disabled in the case of the sound card) with no hardware conflicts.
For the budget conscious, this mainboard is a very choice for building a system for use at the office, since it can use the onboard video and sound, and came with a built-in network card. The onboard sound is actually quite good, since its 5...

Orbital are true originals. The album's they create suggest a bigger talent than is obvious on their single releases. For over a decade they have grabbed dance music by the neck and given it the third degree in how proceedings should be run effectively.... more
