The Colorado 1200p landscape scanner is a value for money innovation. It comes with highly accurate and user friendly software, such as PrimaPage OCR and MGI PhotoSuite. The new PowerTWAIN driver software offers various advantages, such as multiple image scanning, adjustment in pre-scanning mode, and direct pasting into target applications. ...I have had this scanner for almost 3 years and even now I rate it as a fantastic purchase. When I bought it, scanners were still expensive pieces of equipment, but the PrimaxColorado Direct was good value even then. It was extremely easy to install and the TaskBridge software it comes with makes scanning photos, scanning text via OCR and making photocopies very easy. The quality of scans is generally good; photos tend to scan slightly dark but brightness adjustments within picture software tend to fix this. As well as the useful TaskBridge software (which starts up when you press the start button on the scanner), the PrimaxColorado Direct comes with MGI PhotoSuite SE; high-quality image editing software that is a great way for novices to get the hang of photo manipulation. Advantages: excellent scans, good all rounder Disadvantages: a little slow to scan detail
...the PrimaxColorado Direct D600 is a compitant little scanner, boasting excellent picture quality. I bought one to photo copy documents and for photo storage. The scanner, reproducing pictures to an excellent quality, coupled with a photo printer and you could reproduce photographs. The scanner is lighty and completely user friendly, with the free cd rom disk also comes photo suite, a good software package for any photographers especially.
Although it produces excellent pictures, it is a little low in doing so with high detail pictures etc, and works faster on the draft mode, or black and white. If you have the time to wait fro a good quality scan, this is definately worth a look. inexpensive to buy also.
Comes with software and cables, plugs into the printer port of your computer....

...The PrimaxColorado Direct 9600 is an excellent scanner. After having mine for just under 2 years, I've scanned thousands of Documents, Pictures, Text etc. And it has never once let me down.
It has good Colour Recognition, The Image is always Crystal Clear and Full of Colour. Good for scanning Photographs and Images, But one of the really handy things is Scanning text, it has OCR so it can take the text you scanned, and transfer it straight into a word processor.
The accuracy rate is pretty good, and it can save you Hours and Hours. One thing, The OCR works better if you scan in German for some reason....
