The Primax looked as if it might be 'right' for me but I spent a lot of time annoying the young person at PC World before I parted with my hard earned cash.
WOW!!!!
Once out of the box it was completely plain sailing and the USB connection made it really simple to install. The CD has clear and concise instructions and the bundled software is useful, fun and easy to use.
But the real bonus of this particular piece of hardware is ... ...in turn
With this Primax you can still lay as many images as will fit onto the bed and prescan the lot in one fell swoop. But the difference is that this clever little beastie allows you to select each image or part image as a separate scan and then, when you tell it to scan, it remembers your selections and scans them all at the same time, but as separate files. This saves hours..!!! You can also alter the colour, contrast, lighting (and lots more) ...

The scanner is light to carry but very long for my desk. The driver worked perfectly on 98 and 200 professionally but could not get it to function on ME. Easy to use on disc but complex to install from internet.
Appears to give goods results and ages well, now 3 years. However i have now got a problem with the mirror having moved but I understand it is easy to repair.
