Disadvantages: You stare at the cover hating youself for not looking as sexy as she does!

Lionheart (1978) is really a beautiful addition the Kate Bush collection. The sexy album cover and lyrics like 'the more that I think of sex the better it gets' hints at the real bravery buried in this album. It's no suprise with songs like "Oh England My Lionheart", that this album did really well in England and not so well in the US. Kate Bush's vocals really do leap and dance around the music in this enchanting album. But dont be fooled by her butterfly like delicate voice, for lurking deep inside Kate is a woman who throws out lyrics heavy with ferocity like 'he's too busy hitting the vaseline' in the brilliant song WOW! This album really is amazing to listen to as its so intricate and detailed with surprises and points of interest lurking in every crevice of itself. You could really keep listening to it over and over ...

Review of Lionheart - Kate Bush

The Bear

Advantages: Amazing scenery
Disadvantages: Week story and can easily get bored watching

The Bear is one of my husbands favourite films and he has been trying to get it on DVD for a very long time so I decided I would treat him for when he returned home from Afghan. The only trouble with getting it for him is that he wanted me to watch it with him! THE FILM The film is set in the mountains of British Columbia in 1885. The film is based on a bear cub who looses his mother when a big rock falls on her. He is left all alone struggling to survive. He comes across a giant male bear but the bear wants nothing to do with the cub as the male bears do not rear the cubs. The male bear gets shot by hunters who are out in the forest looking for a kill. The wounded bear goes off and tries to heal his wound. The brave bear cub goes over to him and helps him by licking his wound. The male bear befriends the cub and decides ...

Review of The Bear (DVD)

Sign Of The Times-Prince (Can I still call him that?)

Advantages: Familiar,catchy,poppy classic tunes that helped to define the 80s era.
Disadvantages: He is sometimes annoying experimental but this album does stay quite consistent throughout.

Ok, so I know that Prince (oops sorry! The artist formerly known as Prince) is a bit old school but I honestly feel that his music is still relevant nowadays. Sure he is a bit of a loony, with all the symbol stuff/media p*ss take stunts and all but the music speaks for itself and personally I dont mind my rock stars a bit on the kooky side. Sign Of The Times (the album and the soundtrack) is one of my favourite Prince albums. It's jammed packed with songs that have had so much radio time over the years that I defy anyone to not know at least a few of the words to most of the songs! It's got the title track 'Sign of the times', 'Slow Love', 'If I was your girlfriend' and 'I could never take the place of your man'. This album is just as good as Purple Rain (which also ran parrallel to a feature film) and was released in 1987 ...
