A lovely book for anyone who loves princesses and wants tomakeprincessthings. Yes, I do know someone who fits into this category quite nicely! We already have some of the other usborne craft books, and having found them useful and very enjoyable, this was a must.
After the index, with a list of the makes, the book gets straight onto the descriptions of how tomake the items, without any long preamble as to how the book should be used. I like this because we want tomake the things, not be told how to use what is essentially a very simple book.
There are 17 thingstomake; I would say the book is definitely more "make" than "do"- there are no ideas for example, of princess dance moves. The thingsto be made are: dancing Princesses, headdress, slipper decorations, sash, zigzag castle card, crown, fan, tiara, princess in ...

18 different fun activities for all ages and abilities. With simple and clear illustrated and written instruction to follow step by step. Most of the activities also show a photographic reproduction of the final item, which is really helpful. Predominantly uses materials which are found in the home and includes a double page of pirate themed gold stickers.
Pirate Hats: Shows how tomake two different hats a rounded hat and a pointed hat. Easy and quick tomake at any age (young ones with a little help) and can be used for dressing up and play immediately for both boys and girls.
Pirate Ship Painting: More for the older children. Shows very clearly how to draw the ship including pirates.

One of our usborne make and do books, which tends to get a lot of usage at different times of the year.
THE BOOK
The book has a very brief contents page which also incorporates the inside front cover, which is good news for anyone wanting to get straight into the makes without any preamble.
In total there are 17 makes including: funky fairies, Fairyland Painting, Sparkly fairy wings, Fairy tiara and Fairy Collage. The makes are quite diverse, and whilst some are makes that can be worn, others are pictures, puppets or cards. So, there is bound to be something as the occasion demands.
