Small businesses with this service ethos?
Review of Canon Business Inkjet BIJ-1300 by
Kaisersousa
Advantages: Says what it does on the box - cheapish to run
Disadvantages: Canon After sales service for small businesses
...concerned me.
Whilst checking out Canon I came across this model and on paper was quite impressed - an inkjet (bubble jet) that could theoretically do what we needed at a much cheaper cost to run than a colour laser printer.
So impressed was I that I bought two (2) of these printers, albeit one was a demo model with no printer head or any ink cartridges (I bought this latter one at a very discounted price)
Pros:
I must say that with the printer ... ...the cons: (1) Original Canon ink tank cartridge consumables for the BIJ 1300 are overpriced and extremely expensive. In fact a set of these (4 colours) will cost you nearly as much as the printer (£36 for black, £30 for each colour =£148 incl VAT + delivery) .
(2) They are extremely hard to find and Canon's website doesn't help in many ways. You will find it difficulty, near impossible to get it with UK online sellers, only via Canon itself
(3) ...

Possibly the worst ever product from Canon
Review of Canon BJC 7100 by
colin99
Advantages: Choose 3-colour inks for simple jobs, 6-colour for photos
Disadvantages: Expensive to run, unreliable, mediocre quality, Parallel only, huge
...are expensive. Even original Canon inks do this, and copy ones are even worse.
Paper handling is unreliable, sheets sometimes need a push.
Photo print quality, even when you carefully align the heads using the supplied utilities, is rough. There are lines visible on mid-depth parts of the image. This is a shame, because apart from this, the image quality would have been very good.
It messes around for an age before printing anything.
So my experience ... ...Now, having probably printed no more than a few dozen sheets successfully in all the time I've owned it, and having cost more in inks than it cost to buy in that time, it has quit altogether. I just get a five-beeps error. This indicates a cartridge fault, but I've been advised it actually means the print carriage has died, and this costs several times more than the printer did.
Don't even cosider one as a freebie. ...

Review of Canon BJC S500 by
jimbuck
Advantages: Reasonably fast and great print quality.
Disadvantages: Cost of ink refills.
...was to giver her my Canon BJC 3000 and buy myself a new one.
Having had excellent service from the BJC 3000 for over 12 months I naturally leaned heavily in Canon’s direction primarily because Canon printers have separate ink tanks and after consulting all the usual sources I decided that the Canon S520 would be the machine for me. Unfortunately none were available locally and I wanted it today so that I could pass on my old printer. The salesman ... ...the Canon S520 and the S500 is the speed of printing and the price - £179.99 against £129.99. However I did find out that it was just a bit more than that. But it was no contest really as speed of printing isn’t high on my list of priorities in a printer. I’m happy to wait a few extra seconds for a page or two to print out especially as it saved me fifty quid.
The printer came securely packed in the usual Canon red box, with a manual ...

A legend
Review of Canon BJC 7000 by
GreatJay777
Advantages: Good quality
Disadvantages: takes long to warm up
This printer has been around for about 5 years and still it is a very good and solid printer. It has often been said that it was the best printer for over a year and it still is one of the best that I have seen so far. The menu and print quality are excellent. The only downturn is the time it takes until you can start printing. The warming up time is one of the longest that I know. But than again it is worth it. Not only has it got a colour cartridge, ...
