office printer
Review of Brother HL 4040CN by techno_man_37

Advantages: features, looks.
Disadvantages: price?

Recently, brother have been re-designing their printers and their all in ones. This HL4040CN, has just been re-designed and now looks better and works better. The design shape of this, is basically a big box. And it is big because this printer is for an high end personal use or for medium class office work. So therefore it has to be able to cope with a lot of work. Even though this is a box shape, it still looks somewhat cool. Its panels of blue ...
...From the front of the machine, a blue panel fold down. This is a 50 sheet multi purpose tray, and directly below this tray is another, this one holds a massive 250 sheets of paper, and this is the main paper feed for printing off documents. At the top of the printer is where the printed documents come out, this is easier to collect than them coming out of the bottom and just adds simplicity to the machine. There are quite a lot of features available ... Read review

Finally a good pinter
Review of Brother HL 2040 by cja5

Advantages: Easy to use
Disadvantages: USB connection

I was despirate to buy a new printer as cartridges where costing me a fortune and so laser was the way forward. I am a student so I was on a budget and I saw this printer was priced well and bit the bullet. I am very surprised by it actually. It is a little temporamentle to set up with the USB especially if you are still running 1.1.....but after that it is plain sailing. I have had it over a year now and am still using the free cartridge that has ...
...printing slightl;y to excess and still it is going strong. It prints very fast and the quality (when st to high - photo) is exceptional. This is definately one to consider when you want a printer. The free cartridge lasts for what seems like ever and it is so easy to use ..... plug it in (finally set it up) and you are away. It was be a litle hot sometimes that conerns me but it hasn't had anything happen to it. I liked it so much I bought a second ... Read review

2070N for small business- is it right for me.
Review of Brother HL 2070N by jrowleyuk

Advantages: sensibly priced network printer
Disadvantages: basically just a 2040 in new colours

...enough'. I like the Brother printers having used them for several years. This one should have been a better step than it was, a little disappointed. I wouldnt really recommend this to a business unless it was relatively small. We will be looking at the 5000 series for our next printers, however price is very definitely a key issue there. All in all if you can get this on a deal from a supplier then you shouldnb't be disappointed. I wouldn't expect ... Read review

Good Brother laser printer
Review of Brother HL 5140 by tomo359

Advantages: Quick, good paper handling, more in review
Disadvantages: not many really.

We have some of these printers at school so i know quite alot about them. They have a good design, simple square and compact and would fit into any home, office or school. It has a paper draw at the base which holds up to 250 sheets of A4 paper. This is easily pulled open by pulling on the handle. On the front of the draw is a little indicator which gives an idea of how full the draw is of paper so you don't have to keep opening the draw to see ...
...tray which is a multi purpose tray for things like envolopes and any other paper. There is a slide to fit the correct size of paper so it is not taken in angled. Behind this cover is a larger cover which is where the drum and toner is. This cover is opened by pressing down the button on top and pulling the cover open. The toner is easy to get to, and is easy to pull out and put in. On the top of the machine is the output tray which can hold up ... Read review

A good starter
Review of Brother HL 5150D by talonsco

Advantages: Fast for the money with in-built duplex
Disadvantages: Relatively noisey

I purchased a brother HL-5150D a year or so ago and have been very happy with it. It was bought to replace an old epson inkjet and the quality of the printouts it produces are much sharper and crisper than an inkjet could ever manage. It can also print at a much higher speed. I would say the the claimed 20ppm is not all what it appears. This is if only 5% of the total surface is printed and you happen to be printing envelopes. However it can still ...
...for printing A4 decomuents is around 12ppm or about 5 is duplexing. I have said that it is however slightly noisey. This is only when in operation and it is very quiet while not in use. It even powers down after a few minutes to save electricity. The only advice I would give to you is to buy proper laser printer paper. I made the error of continuing to use normal inkjet paper and it curls. Its to do with the heat used by the laser printer, so get ... Read review
