office printer
Review of Brother HL 4040CN by techno_man_37

Advantages: features, looks.
Disadvantages: price?

Recently, brother have been re-designing their printers and their all in ones. This HL4040CN, has just been re-designed and now looks better and works better. The design shape of this, is basically a big box. And it is big because this printer is for an high end personal use or for medium class office work. So therefore it has to be able to cope with a lot of work. Even though this is a box shape, it still looks somewhat cool. Its panels of blue ...
...From the front of the machine, a blue panel fold down. This is a 50 sheet multi purpose tray, and directly below this tray is another, this one holds a massive 250 sheets of paper, and this is the main paper feed for printing off documents. At the top of the printer is where the printed documents come out, this is easier to collect than them coming out of the bottom and just adds simplicity to the machine. There are quite a lot of features available ... Read review

Colour Laser That Punches Above its Price Range
Review of Konica Minolta Magicolor 5430 DL by AaronC

Advantages: Colour Print Speed, Print Quality, Network Ready, Fewer Consumables
Disadvantages: Lack of Seperate Paper Feed

This is Konica Minolta's first "in house" manufactured Printer, and the effort required to make a good first impression certainly shows. It is sturdy looking without being too utilitarian. Photo quality is good, there is room for improvement, but this would only be required/desired if you were perhaps involved in the graphics industry. At 2400dpi though, it certainly gives detailed enough photo's. I have seen Estate Agent Particulars printed with ...
...the 20 Colour PPM that Konica Minolta quote in their Specifications. The printer has stamina, with a duty cycle of 60K pages per month. This is quite enough for most small to medium sized offices. In my experience mostly Estate Agents and Schools purchase this Printer. The quick throughput and Network connectivity suits them perfectly. For a little over £300, you are getting a printer which gives performance way over what should be expected at ... Read review

Designjet 120 review
Review of HP DesignJet 120nr by cogilvy

Advantages: A1 print outs, good quality, quick
Disadvantages: Takes up a lot of room

The Designjet 120 is an excellent printer. It prints out prints from A4-A1 sizes. It prints out at a good speed and to high quality. The biggest problem with it is how much space it takes up. Good value for money! The coour comes out to be very good quality and vary precise. It is easy to load the paper. A3 and A4 paper can be automatically loaded by the printer. Bigger sizes have to be loaded by hand which is very easy and straight forward. You ... Read review

These printers are an absolute nightmare...
Review of Konica Minolta Magicolor 2430 DL by shielder95

Advantages: None
Disadvantages: Clunky, Noisy, Toner Leakage, Paper Pickup Problems, Sensor Problems, Cheaply Built, The List Goes On...

...month we had to call konica minolta to send out a printer engineer because 2 of our printers refused to pick up any paper, and these 2 still have trouble picking up paper even now. The insides of these printers can get very dirty with toner which will cause a whole load of other problems like the "X toner not installed" error messages mentioned above. It seems that due to what looks like a design fault - where by the electrical contacts for the ...
...so I was told by konica - but doesn't seem to) ends up at the bottom of this chamber which in turn ends up on the main contacts which then transfers the ink onto the contacts on each cartridge, which then throws up a "cyan/magenta/yellow/black toner not installed" error message. I actually cleaned out one of these offending printers, tested it, took it back up to our main office, no more than 3 hours after i'd left it there, it had come back up with ... Read review

A printer good for home use
Review of Canon PIXMA IP2500 by Sweetpea1075

Advantages: Inexpensive, Nice design, modern looking, OK for everyday use
Disadvantages: Noisy, takes ages to start up, goes through ink quickly

...had broken. I have a Canon camera and know that Canon is a good well know brand. It also looks nice and modern and has a nice shiny black finish. For the jobs that I want it to do at the moment, it performs well, although I am hoping to print out some large photo prints in the near future, so will be upgrading. For standard photos and written documents, it does the job nicely, although some of the colours on the photos did not come out the same ...
...the printer itself, as my PC may not be set up correctly. The disadvantage is the amount of ink it uses. I have never used so much over the last few months, especially if you are printing out photos - it is not a cheap option. Much cheaper to get them done at processing lab or online. The ink is not cheap for this printer either, compared with other similar printers. Although I have found that even when it says it is empty, there is still actually ... Read review
