Size is sometimes very important
Review of HP DesignJet 130 by Miskah

Advantages: Prints are massive and very high quality
Disadvantages: Big initial outlay - unlikely to be useful for the average home user.

...We decided to buy the HP DesignJet 130, A1 Inkjet Printer mainly due to its price but also because we were allowed to have a demonstration. It costs £820.12 excluding VAT (as we are a registered charity for fundraising purposes we don’t pay VAT) adding VAT to the price will raise it to £963.64. It does appear to be a large amount of money, but many other departments in the NHS and social services are in the same boat so we will be able to share ...
...cost which isn’t bad HP DesignJet 130, A1 Inkjet Printer ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ This printer is not as big as one would expect considering the size it prints out. Its dimensions are 1050 x 415 x 220 mm (W x D x H) and it weighs 22 kg. It has 6 individual ink cartridges; black, cyan, magenta, yellow, light cyan and light magenta. The maximum paper size is 1625 mm x 625 mm (Length x Width) and it leaves a border of 5 mm at the ... Read review

Lexmark is very reliable
Review of Lexmark X3580 by lulabell87

Advantages: wifi, screen
Disadvantages: 2 separate ink cartridges

...ago, i have always had lexmark printers, and i really liked the design of this one. It is an all in one, so a printer, scanner and copier, and the price ranges from around £30-50 which i think is reasonably good value for money. It takes two print cartridges, one black on colour, the numbers are 3 and 4 cartridges respectively, which are also fairly cheap. at between £13-18 depending on where you purchase them, I find the fact that it has separate ...
...just have one cartridge for both, as i personally use a lot more black than colour, so i only have to replace whichever one is needed as opposed to the whole cartridge, when there may still be colour ink left in it. It has an extendable tray which you can pull out while it is printing to catch the paper, and the buttons are easy to use. It was also very easy to install, with no major problems arising. It also has a good warning system of when the ... Read review

Canon Pixma mp 460 - Fantastic all in one
Review of Canon Pixma MP460 by panther23

Advantages: lcd display, durability, optional Bluetooth connection, qualitys, speed, design, functionality, rich software, reliability
Disadvantages: could be litle smaller

...mode is much quieter. Canon has a number of standard, automatic cleaning procedures: - standard cleaning eliminating unwanted smudges and lines in the print result - Deep cleaning unclogging nozzles that can not be cleaned by regular cleaning - Bottom plate cleaning which prevents paper smudges during printing - Roller cleaning gives smoother paper feeding Ink (Canon FINE (Full-lithography inkjet Nozzle Engineering) - 4-ink) Inks does what ...
...outs. My one lasts for 8 months already and still did not have to replace them. Fact is that I' am not a printing maniac. I use them only when I need them. It is about 3-5 times a week. The cost of new ink varies from capacity. There are different options available on a market. That is good as you can suit size to your budget or if printing a lot buy bigger ink. Black costs about £11 and colour £16. For me it is not expensive. Quality costs. Software ... Read review

Canon Pixma iP4300 Printer
Review of Canon PIXMA iP 4300 by kindlyraccoon

Advantages: Two paper trays. Ability to print onto CD discs. Quiet
Disadvantages: Cost of original cartridges.

When I first bought the canon printer and got it out of the box, I felt that I had a printer that was sturdy and solid. The reason why a lot of people complain when they are in the shop is that there is never a cable with the printer. Again this is no exception. So either you buy a new one or hopefully, like me you had one from your last printer. The black and silver trim make it look quite smart, making you want to leave it out in the open. Really ...
...At first the cartridges from Canon were ok but I find at £8 each it does get expensive. I started to use compatible ones. Now then, if you go this route, people say that they break the printer. I have found this not to be true in my situation. The problem is when you have to change the chip over from one cartridge to another. A little tool is provided to remove the chip and some double sided tape for sticking it back on the new one. I have had a ... Read review

Review of Epson Stylus Photo R285 by wilding2004

Advantages: Print quality, low price, individual inks
Disadvantages: Slightly bulky design

...printers the best results come with using the best photo paper, and amazingly this printer was bundled with a pack of 7x5 Epson Premium Glossy paper. I tend to use this printer for making A4 size copies of select photos. It really does justice to high resolution imagery. ... Read review
