Suberb photo prints
Review of Canon S 330 Photo by
newb00ts
Advantages: Excellent print quality
Disadvantages: slightly flimsy
I had been relying on an old black and white printer for far too long. My girlfriend spotted this one and bought it and after hearing good things from her I purchased it from PC World for £69.99.
----Style----
I actually think the printer is quite good looking. It has a smoked perspex front which opens outwards to allow access to the two ink cartridges and the printer head and the paper adjustment lever. Unfortunately it still follows the rather ... ...all its not bad looking and perhaps most importantly it looks and feels solid and well built. Only two buttons are on the printer itself these are the power and cancel button situated on the top just behind the smoked perspex cover. The only problems with the design are the output and input tray which are particulary flimsy and make the printer rather larger once attached. Due to the limited space I have for this printer I don't bother with the output ...

Another Quality Printer from Canon
Review of Canon S 830D by
skrg28
Advantages: Quick, Seperate Ink Tanks
Disadvantages: None
I have owned one of these for a year or two now. and never had any trouble with it..
When this was new it was quite expensive but the quality of the printing speaks for itself.
The printer has 5 different ink tanks. 3 colour, 1 black and 1 photo. This makes life alittle easier when you are printing as you only use the colour you are actually printing. When it runs out you only have to change one colour at a time. At a cost of around £6.00 each ... ...easy job and without any tricky clips etc.
The printer has a decent sized paper tray which is more than enough for home use.
The other great feature of this printer is the PCMCIA slot on the top. This is coupled to an LCD screen. It basically allows you to put an adapter in that can take Digital camera memory cards. From this you can use the LCD to print directly from the card without the need for a connection to the PC.
The general print quality ...

A printer good for home use
Review of Canon PIXMA IP2500 by
Sweetpea1075
Advantages: Inexpensive, Nice design, modern looking, OK for everyday use
Disadvantages: Noisy, takes ages to start up, goes through ink quickly
...had broken. I have a Canon camera and know that Canon is a good well know brand. It also looks nice and modern and has a nice shiny black finish.
For the jobs that I want it to do at the moment, it performs well, although I am hoping to print out some large photo prints in the near future, so will be upgrading. For standard photos and written documents, it does the job nicely, although some of the colours on the photos did not come out the same ... ...the printer itself, as my PC may not be set up correctly.
The disadvantage is the amount of ink it uses. I have never used so much over the last few months, especially if you are printing out photos - it is not a cheap option. Much cheaper to get them done at processing lab or online. The ink is not cheap for this printer either, compared with other similar printers. Although I have found that even when it says it is empty, there is still actually ...

A good printer with added "bits"
Review of Epson Stylus Photo R300 by
Carrotts73
Advantages: good print quality, cheap copy cartridges, stand alone if needed
Disadvantages: none really
The Epson R300 is a good low cost Photo Printer. It has lots of useful features, for instance you can print direct from a camera, or pop a memory card into the reader on the front. If you're connected to a PC then it can use the memory card reader as well. It is also possible to attach a Bluetooth module and print direct from a camera phone, but I've not tried this. You can buy a colour LCD for it so that you can preview pictures before you print ... ...and it can knock 6x4 prints out in a minute or so. It also has the capability of printing direct onto white coated CD/DVDs if you want to make your Disks look smart!
I get my ink from eBay, and this does not seem to massively affect the quality of printouts but is much cheaper. The set up is very straightforward.
The printer has a little LCD screen that gives out status messages and other information, so it is worth remembering this before you ...
