Not for old women who live in shoes.
Review of HP Color LaserJet 2600n by dhillcrest

Advantages: Looks good, prints fast,
Disadvantages: Too expensive for heavy use

...poor old geriatric canon inkjet. HP quote about 8ppm and that seems about right. Not the fastest of lasers I know but were not doing runs of 20,000 books so it suits us fine. Set up and install ------------------------ Came in a really big box. Looks like itd take 2 printers but disappointingly there was only one.Usual plug-and-play set-up on a workstation via a usb (supplied). we got the technician to install it to the network at a later date ...
...Supplies ------------ About £40 per HP cartridde which was getting WAY too expensive for the kids to use. I think the compatibles were coming in at around £30. * 1 x toner cartridge ( cyan ) - up to 2000 pages * 1 x toner cartridge ( magenta ) - up to 2000 pages * 1 x toner cartridge ( yellow ) - up to 2000 pages * 1 x toner cartridge ( black ) - up to 2500 pages Looks --------- Chunky but not especially bulky if that makes any sense. Simply brilliant!
Review of Epson Stylus Photo 1400 by il_cacciatore

Advantages: A3+ capability, CD/DVD printing function, Resolution, Pict Bridge Port, Colour depth.
Disadvantages: Bulky (but to be expected?), no ISB cable or firewire port, Plastic build.

...☼ My long lived Epson C42 plus gave up the ghost a while back so I decided to invest in a new printer. I’ve stayed loyal to Epson as there were no alternatives similar in specification and ability out on the market just now in the same price bracket as the Stylus 1400. I chose this printer as I want a printer that can print high quality photographs from digital and scanned photographs, something capable of A3 print size to print technical ...
...at £9.45 each for oem Epson cartridges. ☼ Packaging ☼ The box it comes packed in is a bit bulky as it is an A3 printer though it features carry handles to make life easier. It is well styled and describes key points of the printer in different languages. My box contained: ☺Software CD ☺Six ink cartridges (described later) ☺Power cable ☺Warranty Card ☺Quick Start Guide ☺CD print tray contraption ... Read review

Good Quality - but it's a big one!
Review of HP Color LaserJet 2605dn by mandarin

Advantages: Print quality, Discounted Price
Disadvantages: Cost of toner, sheer size

...a replacement for an old HP black laser when I saw this on offer with £100 cashback from HP. Having had it running for about 3 weeks now I can report on what it's like to use. Setup was quite straightforward, I opted for the network setup so it just plugged into router. Software installs quite quickly anf the HP Toolbox keeps an eye on ink levels via pc screen, although you do have to open it first. It is slow, very slow when compared to other ...
...used to 25 ppm from the machine it replaces. However, first page comes out quickly and if you are patient ot's worth the wait. Colour reproduction is pretty impressive, black is crisp and easy to read. It is a b-i-g printer so make sure you measure your desk space before ordering. Supplies are not particularly cheap at around £40 for each cartridge covering around 2500 sheets from each. Was it the right decision to buy? I think it was, particularly ... Read review

Small Business Laser ?
Review of Epson AcuLaser C1100 by Akett

Advantages: Extreemly Fast Colour Printing and superb Quality
Disadvantages: Large very very large, costly Replacement toner

...having previously had a Small Epson Colour inkjet which like most epson injet printers had suffered the blocked print head of death i also had a small samsung black and white laser printer which needed a new toner cartridge which would have cost more than i paid for the printer in the first place so i decided to go for the all in one option of a colour laser in recent years the costs of colour laser printers has dropped greatly and this model cost ...
...high profile brand such as Epson set up took a while as it wasn't as simple as open the top and put the cartrdges in like you would with an inkjet instead having to press buttons and wait for the internals of the machine to get ready for the next colour fitting it into my office took some thinking about the foot print of the printer is huge its currently located on a filing cabnet but still over hangs the sides Paper jams are extreemly few and far ... Great for the money and size.
Review of Canon Laser Shot LBP 5000 by hazeydazey

Advantages: Colour, compact compared to other laser and fits on desktop, laser.
Disadvantages: Still quite large compared to an ink jet.

I bought one of these babies because I hate inkjets and love laser. This was the only one I could really afford which was small enough to fit on my desktop and had colour. Laser printers are better than inkjets because they give a crisp and professional look to word documents and spreadsheets. Even with a fine quality inject it still looks home-made unless it is on hideously expensive paper. Therefore the LBP 5000 it makes my assignments look great. ...
...pictures which sends shivers down my spine with excitement. It is generally understood that lasers are far better value for money on a long-term basis. When you replace cartridges in an injet they can cost £15 plus for each colour. A replacement toner cartridge for the LBP5000 laser printer is around £50, however they need replacing far less frequently. I have had mine for six months and have gone through at least two reams of paper and still have ... Read review
