The reliable HP LaserJet 4250dtn
Review of HP LaserJet 4250dtn by netgekko

Advantages: Networkable double sided printing with a small footprint
Disadvantages: There isnt one, I like this printer.

This is a great workhorse printer from H.P. its fast with clear, crisp print results, the extra paper tray is useful for having plain and letter headed paper ready to print, or even different sizes. Easily networkable, and the duplex is fast without paper jams which seems to happen often on other machines I've used. This machine has a small footprint so if space is at a premium in your office but the workload is high, this might be the printer ...
...and if the LJ4250dtn develops any faults H.P. parts are cheaper and more easily available than most. There is one fault I am aware of with this machine relating to the duplex unit, if you expect to do a lot of double sided printing, it has a habit of becoming a bit noisy; there is a cog that wears under the extra load caused by the duplex. However this is very minor and can be fixed easily. Having said that I really rate this printer, and would ... Read review

High volume printing at its best
Review of HP LaserJet 9050dn by kenhutchings1979

Advantages: Speed, High Capacity
Disadvantages: Cost of consumeables, Size, Client Software must be installed on all machines

...in minutes. Technical support from HP is informitive and they are quick to help you find a resolution. Moving the printer or finding space for it can be a problem - this is by no means a desktop machine - it demands a space of its own (quite rightly). Its price tag can make it hard to justify but if you have a high volume of work for it - it quickly excels itself and stands out from its cheaper rivals. The speed claimed by the manufacturer for A4 ... Read review

A printer good for home use
Review of Canon PIXMA IP2500 by Sweetpea1075

Advantages: Inexpensive, Nice design, modern looking, OK for everyday use
Disadvantages: Noisy, takes ages to start up, goes through ink quickly

...had broken. I have a Canon camera and know that Canon is a good well know brand. It also looks nice and modern and has a nice shiny black finish. For the jobs that I want it to do at the moment, it performs well, although I am hoping to print out some large photo prints in the near future, so will be upgrading. For standard photos and written documents, it does the job nicely, although some of the colours on the photos did not come out the same ...
...the printer itself, as my PC may not be set up correctly. The disadvantage is the amount of ink it uses. I have never used so much over the last few months, especially if you are printing out photos - it is not a cheap option. Much cheaper to get them done at processing lab or online. The ink is not cheap for this printer either, compared with other similar printers. Although I have found that even when it says it is empty, there is still actually ... Read review

A good printer with added "bits"
Review of Epson Stylus Photo R300 by Carrotts73

Advantages: good print quality, cheap copy cartridges, stand alone if needed
Disadvantages: none really

The Epson R300 is a good low cost Photo Printer. It has lots of useful features, for instance you can print direct from a camera, or pop a memory card into the reader on the front. If you're connected to a PC then it can use the memory card reader as well. It is also possible to attach a Bluetooth module and print direct from a camera phone, but I've not tried this. You can buy a colour LCD for it so that you can preview pictures before you print ...
...and it can knock 6x4 prints out in a minute or so. It also has the capability of printing direct onto white coated CD/DVDs if you want to make your Disks look smart! I get my ink from eBay, and this does not seem to massively affect the quality of printouts but is much cheaper. The set up is very straightforward. The printer has a little LCD screen that gives out status messages and other information, so it is worth remembering this before you ... Read review

HP 7260
Review of HP PhotoSmart 7260 by makro74

Advantages: Excellent quick printing, photos just add icing on the cake
Disadvantages: Paper jams for drafts

...relatively quick speed (depending on settings). But beware of using draft prints as this for some reason causes the printer to jam or crumple through the process. Ink catridges suprisingly outlast any other inkjet I have owned. HP 56, 57, 58 are used in this machine. ... Read review
