BEAST of a printer, scanner, fax & copier (phew!)
Review of Brother MFC-7420 Multifunction by
4leafclover
Advantages: A printer, scanner, copier and fax machine (phew!)
Disadvantages: It's heavy in size and in cost.
...we have here is the Brother MFC-7420 Multifunction digital laser device. Try saying it in one breath. Go on, I challenge you to say it in one breath.
Did you manage it?
If you did then you probably deserve a medal, but then so would 'Brother' for managing to cram so many features and uses into one device. That is a challenge in itself, and I'd imagine it was far from easy to accomplish and keep the design as attractive as it is.
I know what you're ... ...print tray. Brother are a well known brand, particularly within the PC and electronics industries. They have a good reputation and almost always come up with the goods. They are not always the cheapest, but they are very stylish and reliable. In short, you get something you can depend on, is easy and functional and has good after-sales support for your money.
I've divided the rest of the review in to several categories to help you zoom straight ...

Brother HL5240 laser printer
Review of Brother HL 5240 by
marktomo06
Advantages: Good all round laser printer, loads of pros
Disadvantages: very few, if any
...opinion the best looking printer Brother have ever done. Most of Brother's lasers as well as many others on the market are just a neutral cream colour but this is black and grey which may not sound very appealing but when you see it, it looks great. It is a good size, simple printer that will fit into any office, school or home. It does not take up too much desk space and will fit easily on something such as a filing cabinet or similar.
Connections:
... ...the toner and drum in, Brother have done this well by combining both parts in one piece. All you do is open the main cover, push in the toner/drum then close the cover, couldn't be simpler. The printer is now ready to print, that’s after it has paper in. Paper can be put in two parts; the bottom paper tray which pulls out and conceals the paper, or the pull open tray. This is the bit with the blue brother logo on the front. This opens up then inside ...

perfect office printer
Review of Brother HL 5280DW by
techno_man_37
Advantages: print speed, quality and so silent
Disadvantages: could look better
This Brother HL 5280DW is one of the top models from brothers laser printers. It offers very fast printing, great quality of printers as well as managing a range of different tasks and has lots of different features too.
Its 266MHz RISC processor is what runs this machine to its current power and its 32MB of on-board memory, this can too be upgraded to a maximum of 544MB if you really need it.
Also built into this is networking. You would expect ... ...it is effectively an office, or home office printer. This means that you can connect computers or laptops to the printer wirelessly so there is no need for those messy wires getting all over the place and connectivity is just simpler. The wireless networking built into the printer can reach transfer rates of 54Mbps. As far as design goes, this isn’t too bad. This printer should look horrible though, as all this printer is, is a simple white ...

Brother HL 5270DN
Review of Brother HL 5270DN by
techno_man_37
Advantages: cheap ink, print quality
Disadvantages: big, bulky
...favourite things about the company brother is how cheap there ink is, this is actually one of the main things I look into when buying printers and printers like Lexmark hp and cannons ink are all really expensive. Especially compared to brother, brother ink isn’t as available as most other makes of printers however you can get it a lot cheaper if you buy online and can usually pick up all 4 ink cartridges off eBay for well under £10 whereas ... ...full pack of four which is just ridiculous especially when you consider you can get a printer for this price which comes with free ink so it would just be cheaper to buy a new printer every time you run out of ink.
This printer is a mono laser printer, the fact being that this printer is for offices and most offices just don’t have inkjet printers anymore as lasers are just so much better quality.
There not only better quality prints, there ...

It aint heavy, its my Brother!
Review of Brother DCP-7010 Multifunction by
cbzcbz
Advantages: Excellent print quality. Easy to use and setup, reasonabley cheap to run.
Disadvantages: slightly noisy fan when printing.
...Setting up of the Brother DCP7010 was very easy. Firstly, decide if you wish to use the parallel port or USB port (cable not included). Then simply load the driver CD into your CD drive, and follow on screen instructions until prompted to connect the unit to your PC and switch on. Simply setup which language you want on the units LCD display and away you go!
FEATURES AND WHAT ITS LIKE TO USE :
The laser printing function works at speeds of up to ... ...cost approx £35 for genuine brother cartridges. You can get refilled cartridges for approx £25-30 also but my experience with refilled cartridges is that they don't last as long as genuine ones. The drum lasts for 12,000 pages or every 5 toner cartridges and costs around £55.
Based on once used for 12,000 pages, this equates to a running cost of £230 when using genuine brother toners/drum or 1.92 pence per page. Which considering a lot of places ...
