The Ideal Hospital Patient's Printer
Review of Canon BJC 50 by
AlisonJClarke
Advantages: Small and compact, able to print colour and monochrome, rechargeable.
Disadvantages: It can be difficult to get paper to feed straight, a bit noisy when printing colour.
I bought the BJC-50 as I wanted a small printer that would go into my case with my laptop computer for when I went into hospital. This printer was an ideal size for that purpose. I take it into hospital whenever I go in now so that I can keep up to date with any correspondence. It is very convenient as it can be charged and then used off battery leaving you with one less cable to cope with. One problem I did have was with my paper not feeding through ... ...which is the auto sheet feeder designed for this printer. Now my paper all comes through straight, no more wonky letters from me. One other disadvantage of this printer is that it is quite noisy when printing colour. I like the cartridge containers as they are simple to use and also quite clean, no inky fingers unlike some other print cartridges. All in all it is a good buy if you are looking for a compact reliable printer. ...

Canon into this one
Review of Canon BJC 6000 by
lindylou
Advantages: reliable
Disadvantages: none
...I did have a Canon 2400 which I put to one side, pulled it out a year later only to find it still worked Ok. However, things had moved on and I wanted some better results. how? I compromised a little on quality, bought a BJC 6000, saved a lot of money, have Canon reliability, and a better inkjet replacement system which saves money in the long run. Happy? Of course I am and I am sorry Canon for treating you so badly when you deserved better from me. ...

Cheap and Good
Review of Canon S 200x by
504917
Advantages: Good for those on low budget
Disadvantages: You get what you pay for....
This printer is one of the better low end printers in the market today. It will suit the average student, home-office or family type environment. This printer is not good enough quality to be used as a photo or artistic printer. It is aimed at the budget group so do not expect too much speed. It can print up to 5 ppm but it takes around 1-2 minutes to start up.
This printer is very easy to install. It came with a driver cd, which was needed even ... ...the printer had of been plug n play compatible. The printer is very easy to use. Simply plug in, install ink, and install drivers. Then hit print.
The printer has limited (eg: no) extra functions. It is NOT at all in one or combination device. The printer supports A4,A5 and Envelope sizes. (Possibly other size combinations.)
This is still good value for money, as it is quite a cheap alternative. ...

Cute printer gives you what you need on the move
Review of Canon BJC 85 by
sadoldbag
Advantages: Portable, cheap to print, small size on desk
Disadvantages: Slow, only average print quality
...the software/driver for my desktop Canon at work conflicted with this one. Naturally I wanted to be able to use this at home (where my printing volume are low and my requirements more draft than presentation quality) and a more high volume one one my desk at work. But I couldn't! How stupid. Had to change my Canon printer at work for a different one (swapped with someone else in the office) then it was OK. You'd think Canon might have seen that one ... ...if you need this kind of thing. If you want high volume then buy a laser; if you want to print lots of images in colour etc then buy a photosmart or something.
But I have a laptop and I occasionally had to travel for work so it was really useful to be able to print off, say, a presentation I was preparing without having to rely on a hotel's business suite or whatever.
At home I only needed to print off the odd thing - a few pages a day, so the ...

CANON BJC 1000 - 7 YEARS OF SUCCESS
Review of Canon BJC 1000 by
jata
Advantages: VERY REALIABLE
Disadvantages: SLOW SPEED IN "OPTIMAL" QUALITY SETTING
Albeit I speak Spanish, Iīll write on English.
One word: FIDELITY. Iīve got brand new from 2001 and itīs slow but works excellent. Never papar jams, flips, flops or so. I lost the CD and found drivers on 32.186.415 sites on the Net.
No power, online/offline buttons con confuse.
And also, the program included tells me EVERYTHING that happens. Iīm so used to itīs sound that i thinkīs music.
Also, comparing the cost with Epson catridge, it lasts ... ...time it didnīt print was when the print head was dirty due to much BC05 use. Now I owe it and my syster hates it. Well, she can enjoy the super speed Lexmark Z705 and see if last many years as my Canon. Write to jatalam@gmail.com
Bye! ...
