Its' Worth the Effort
Review of Canon PIXMA IX4000 by RichPrice

Advantages: The quality of the Photo printing and it prints to A3
Disadvantages: Setting it up

I bought a Canon Pixma ix4000 about three months ago. I'm not a technical expert, either in computers or in printers, so this review may be bit lacking in some technical details. I already have a Sharp AL1457D (a multi purpose laser printer, scanner and copier) which I use for most day to day printing. The sharp only prints out onto A4 and is Black and white. I like taking photographs so I set out to buy an extra printer that was good for photographs ...
...(sods law really). The Canon meets all of my needs. It prints up to A3, fairly quickly (if its' B&W). it prints excellent quality photographs (both colour and black and white), to look at them you would think that they were produced by a Professional photo lab, they are that good. I take lots of digital photos using a Canon EOS 300D. The printer produces picture quality that is just incredible, the subtlety of tones are great. I took some photos ... Read review

Profesional Home Printing
Review of Canon PIXMA Pro9500 by BloodySpike

Advantages: Profesional Photos
Disadvantages: None that I can see

Well if you fancy yourself as a bit of a photographer and take lots of photos and edit them, but you only use a normal Photo Printer to print your Photos then think again. This is one hell of a Printer, you achieve fantastic studio like photos from your DSLR camera. I Went on a bit of a spending spree a few months back and bought one of these, I have only just really got to use it to full potential. Obviously as soon as I got it a played around with ...
...have used it to get studio quality prints out, after using Adobe CS2 Photoshop, which by the way is a brilliant piece of software. So about the Printer, why is it so good you ask? Well I will till you, This is a professional and excellent style 10 colour A3 photo Printer. So great for printing high resolution prints onto A3 photo paper, but also great for making posters etc. Its not just great for Colour prints but it also produces excellent quality ... Read review

Professional Quality Printing at Home!
Review of Canon PIXMA Pro9000 by catshark88

Advantages: Quality of output, price
Disadvantages: Size, fiddliness of settings

...own pictures. I use Canon digital cameras and decided to go with a Canon printer, both on recommendation and because you often seem to get the best results by using the same brand for a whole process. Anyway, I had a look at some prints from a Pro9000 and was completely blown away by the quality of them. I bought one and am very glad that I did. The printer body is quite large as it can print up to A3 size which is a bit of a pain if you want ...
...you print high resolution prints. Canon consumables are horribly expensive but you can get some good deals on ebay etc. The quality of your prints will be very affected by the grade of paper that you choose. I have found that Canon Paper Pro gives the best results and the next grade down (super glossy) is good for the sizes that Paper Pro does not come in. I have been told that printer paper has a fine layer of surface chemicals and these are designed ... Read review

Great for the money and size.
Review of Canon Laser Shot LBP 5000 by hazeydazey

Advantages: Colour, compact compared to other laser and fits on desktop, laser.
Disadvantages: Still quite large compared to an ink jet.

I bought one of these babies because I hate inkjets and love laser. This was the only one I could really afford which was small enough to fit on my desktop and had colour. Laser printers are better than inkjets because they give a crisp and professional look to word documents and spreadsheets. Even with a fine quality inject it still looks home-made unless it is on hideously expensive paper. Therefore the LBP 5000 it makes my assignments look great. ...
...pictures which sends shivers down my spine with excitement. It is generally understood that lasers are far better value for money on a long-term basis. When you replace cartridges in an injet they can cost £15 plus for each colour. A replacement toner cartridge for the LBP5000 laser printer is around £50, however they need replacing far less frequently. I have had mine for six months and have gone through at least two reams of paper and still have ... Read review

Pixma brains which printer to have.
Review of Canon PIXMA IP90 by GWJ270967

Advantages: comact, stylish, good brand reputation
Disadvantages: infa red slow, is heavy when used with battery

...to buy an old canon bjc 80 or the likes. I then went onto ebay and searched for a portable printer, you can imagine all the junk that came up and then I saw it, the Canon Pixma IP90, looking very stylish, so like everything else I buy I searched the internet for information on it, and all the reviews I found were positive, albeit the printer was a bit pricey at £199 but I was not swayed and and kept hunting for the best price, in the end I bought ...
...for the pair for original canon but you can get generic replacements for a fraction of the cost, I personally use the original ones, but again I don't print hundreds of pages, just the average family use so it doesn't hurt me when I have to replace them. The print quality is really good from a compact ink jet printer, good enough to print decent charts, documents and even photos. The canon boasts print speeds of upto 16 pages per minute, this must ... Read review
