Not for old women who live in shoes.
Review of HP Color LaserJet 2600n by
dhillcrest
Advantages: Looks good, prints fast,
Disadvantages: Too expensive for heavy use
...poor old geriatric canon inkjet. HP quote about 8ppm and that seems about right. Not the fastest of lasers I know but were not doing runs of 20,000 books so it suits us fine.
Set up and install
------------------------
Came in a really big box. Looks like itd take 2 printers but disappointingly there was only one.Usual plug-and-play set-up on a workstation via a usb (supplied). we got the technician to install it to the network at a later date ... ...Supplies
------------
About £40 per HP cartridde which was getting WAY too expensive for the kids to use. I think the compatibles were coming in at around £30.

Quality over Quantity
Review of HP OfficeJet K7100 by
joe-survey
Advantages: Great quality
Disadvantages: Slow, high cost
...printer in question was the HP OfficeJet K7100. It retails around £190 and was of far higher quality than the other school printers. My experience
I was printing one black and white sheet of guitar tablature. There was not a lot of printing to be done and i expected it to be out by the time reached the printer. This, however, was not the case. It didn't take too long but for what i was printing i thought it was a while. (It took around 40 seconds). ... ...plain sheet, but from past experience i know it can print in very good quality. A full colour sheet will come out in great detail and it can print photographs in great detail too. The only thing i will say was that it was a little smudged. Whether that was me or not i am not sure. It cost me 5p for a black and white sheet, although this was through the school. The real cost is listed below. I was very happy with my Media practical, a music magazine, ...

An asset to your business
Review of HP LaserJet P2015n by
choccogirl75
Advantages: fast & reiable
Disadvantages: manual duplex
We have recently purchased 2 of these at my office, none of us are pros with computers or networks but we were able to set them up on our on and get them on the company network within 30 mins! (via USB) It comes with a cd-rom with installation software and a users guide and also a paper get started guide. It is also compatable with macs and windows although I can only comment on use with windows. The printer is black and white and the tray can hold ... ...pages per minute with the first page coming out within just over 8 seconds from 'sleeping'. It has a 32M memory which can be expanded to 288MB so you can be sure you can send large documents with pictues and so on without it crashing like some older printers, like nashuatecs. It looks great and is very compact, prints up to A4 with up to 1200x1200 dpi in black print resolution,it also has the facility to print duplex albeit manually, this is the ...

The inkjet that likes to think it's a laser
Review of HP OfficeJet Pro K5400 by
sadoldbag
Advantages: Reasonable printing costs, quick print speed, very good quality in both colour and B/W
Disadvantages: It could be smaller
The HP Officejet Pro K5400 costs about £80 (it depends where you get it from) and its marketing point is that it is supposed to be the world's fastest desktop printer for business color. I'n not quite sure what the differnce between business colour and other sorts of colour are, but hey, who's worrying!
It's a good machine to have if you want a reasonable nod towards a colour laser printer, but don't actually want the expense and desk space of owning ... ...It works really well with HP photo paper (I've done a separate review of that if anyone is interested). It prints in 1200 x 1200 dpi resolution in black and white and 4800 x 1200 dpi resolution in colour. In terms of desk space, it's about average - I find all HP printers quite bulky, but it sits nicely on top of a filing cabinet.
Printing costs are not bad. You have black and colour cartridges and standard refills cost about £17 each. That's quite ...

Ideal for wired home networks & students
Review of HP LaserJet P2015dn by
piratess2104
Advantages: Reliability; specification dpi; trustworthy model; size
Disadvantages: Weight; installation difficulties a possibility
...for a second-hand printer, the HP LaserJet 4000n is generally good for home environments, especially those where a family has to share study space: it doesn't take up too much room on a desk, and the fact that the paper comes out the top means that you won't have your nice smooth copies smudging each other or spilling onto the floor. The HP LaserJet 4000n may also have a role to play in small business, but only if your company has a LAN connection ... ...up for yourself on the HP helpline. Fortunately, their technical support is generally pretty good in the UK and Europe. I am told it is also good in the USA, but don't have personal confirmation of this. Do also consider the weight of the printer: a not-inconsiderable 17.8 kg (about the weight of a six-year-old child).
-- SPECIFICATION --
In all honesty, wired network printers have had their day, but as wired printers go, this one is good. It has ...
