Epson V100 Flatbed Scanner
Review of Epson Perfection V100 Photo by Corrigenda

Advantages: Good quality scans, easy to connect, works with Vista (only V32 tested)
Disadvantages: Slow in use, 30 sec warmup before each scan; software setting tedious

Cheap easy to fit and works with Vista too. Quality of image produced is very good. This scanner though is let down by its software. Yes, you can do almost anything you want but the software is oriented around single jobs. If you have an application where you might want each time to scan first a photo and then a form then it's very tedious setting everything up each time. Not only that but if you want to use it for archiving documents it needs half ...
...if you scan multiple sheets using Acrobat as the controlling software, if you haven't turned the page and clicked on next scan within ten seconds then you have a 30 second wait. As if all that isn't enough the flat bed cover doesn't press out any folds in a letter so dark patches can require duplicate scans. ... Read review

I have a real thing about Oki printers !!
Review of OKI C 5650n by netgekko

Advantages: Print quality is great
Disadvantages: Would be good if it came with a duplex

...have a real thing about Oki printers, they are well made, solid reliable printers, but the main bonus is there print quality, it really is first class. If you are looking for a quality print at a reasonable cost Oki is the place to start, and the Oki C 5650n is no exception. This printer is a good workgroup printer, it is network ready, however a duplex would be nice. The Oki C 5650n would be the Rolls-Royce of home printers, more than enough ... Read review

The neat HP LaserJet P1505
Review of HP LaserJet P1505 by netgekko

Advantages: Small Reliable and easy to use
Disadvantages: There isnt any

The H.P. LaserJet P1505 is an ideal desktop printer for the small or home office setup, great if you're fed up with the running costs of replacing ink cartridges in an ink based printer. The LaserJet P1505 is a small mono printer with a big toner cartridge so it won't take long to start saving money on running costs. Quality is good with crisp clean results. The P1505 is a very simple printer in every way, its easy to setup and use, there is also ... Read review

The LaserJet 2605dtn has style
Review of HP Color LaserJet 2605dtn by netgekko

Advantages: Inexpensive double sided colour printing on a network
Disadvantages: Can't think of any

The HP Colour LaserJet 2605dtn is a good little printer, the colour printing is good quality and fast. It is the ideal home or small office printer, the paper tray on the LJ2605 is small so required topping up constantly with paper, however the extra tray on this LJ2605dtn is a real bonus, and also allows the user to load two different paper types into the trays. The LJ2605dtn is easy to use and the instructions on the led screen are simple and ...
...small side though. Being an Hewlett Packard makes it easy to maintain, parts for this printer are reasonable priced and readily available, having said that I have had no real problems with this printer although the little paper holder on the output tray is a bit flimsy. Quality is good but not fast. I like this printer and would recommend it to users at home or the small office ... Read review

The reliable HP LaserJet 4250dtn
Review of HP LaserJet 4250dtn by netgekko

Advantages: Networkable double sided printing with a small footprint
Disadvantages: There isnt one, I like this printer.

This is a great workhorse printer from H.P. its fast with clear, crisp print results, the extra paper tray is useful for having plain and letter headed paper ready to print, or even different sizes. Easily networkable, and the duplex is fast without paper jams which seems to happen often on other machines I've used. This machine has a small footprint so if space is at a premium in your office but the workload is high, this might be the printer ...
...and if the LJ4250dtn develops any faults H.P. parts are cheaper and more easily available than most. There is one fault I am aware of with this machine relating to the duplex unit, if you expect to do a lot of double sided printing, it has a habit of becoming a bit noisy; there is a cog that wears under the extra load caused by the duplex. However this is very minor and can be fixed easily. Having said that I really rate this printer, and would ... Read review
