...can I say good about Lexmark Z55? 1) Very solid, no problem. It does what it is supposed to do. 2) Affordable. It cost us around £49 four years ago. 3) Versatile. I print texts and photos. ...to print lots of photos you will need to buy cartridges quite often. I tried to buy cartridges on e-bay. Normally I pay £14 for black and £16 for colour one (delivery included). I still founds it expensive. Especially when you can order prints at Tesco or Boots for 7p each (4"x6") 2) at the at the age of 3 years it gets occasionally in a stripy mood. For the jobs that I want it to do at the moment, it performs well, although I am hoping to print out some large photo prints in the near future, so will be upgrading. ...the printer itself, as my PC may not be set up correctly. The disadvantage is the amount of ink it uses. I have never used so much over the last few months,especially if you are printing out photos - it is not a cheap option. Much cheaper to get them done at processing lab or online. The Epson R300 is a good low cost Photo Printer. It has lots of useful features, for instance you can print direct from a camera, or pop a memory card into the reader on the front. If you're connected to a PC then it can use the memory card reader as well. It is also possible to attach a Bluetooth module and print direct from a camera phone, but I've not tried this. You can buy a colour LCD for it so that you can preview pictures before you print ...
...and it can knock 6x4 prints out in a minute or so. It also has the capability of printing direct onto white coated CD/DVDs if you want to make your Disks look smart!
