not fab, but good for the money
Review of HP LaserJet P1005 by princesslaura

Advantages: not too big, quiet
Disadvantages: not a fantastic printer

...husband has been using the HP Laserjet P1005 at work for the past few months. His [much more expensive] laserjet broke down and he was quite put out to receive this in return! Amazon charges £69.75 for this product [with free delivery within the UK]. At this price you know that the printer is not going to be top of the range, however, it's not total rubbish by any means. It prints at speeds of up to 14ppm [which is no good for high volume printing ...
...1200-dpi. It has a 133 MHz processor and 2 MB of memory. One advantage of this printer is that it is fairly small in comparison to many others on the market [which saves on valuable deskspace - more room for coffee cups!]. It is also quite quiet [my husband's last printer sounded like an aircraft taking off whenever it was turned on]. It comes with a 150 sheet input tray, which I would consider adequate for most home use. Hi-speed USB 2.0 connectivity ... Read review

Good little printer
Review of HP Color LaserJet CP1515n by non-standard

Advantages: small, easy, cheap, good quality (for a col. laser)
Disadvantages: smallish paper tray

Good little colour printer! Network ready, works well with my Mac and PC over ethernet. Installed easily on both. Initial toner cartridges are not full capacity, but mine ran to around 950 pages when black, followed shortly but magenta and cyan ran out. Tip for using this printer: switch on the supplies warning override. It was telling me to replace toner at around 600 pages, I got 350 pages more before needing too! Use: using this for short run ...
...Edge Control set to light this is just fine. Not quite as smooth as the commercial printer I use for digital but acceptable, and we're promoting photography services mainly. Prints card up to 220gsm OK. Also duplexes well (work and turn). In first 1000 pages it needed 1 calibration (diy through the printer menu). Paper tray could be a bit bigger, as I'm mostly using 120gsm and I need to top up regularly. Reasonably cheap to run, I est. around .40c ... Read review

Not for old women who live in shoes.
Review of HP Color LaserJet 2600n by dhillcrest

Advantages: Looks good, prints fast,
Disadvantages: Too expensive for heavy use

...poor old geriatric canon inkjet. HP quote about 8ppm and that seems about right. Not the fastest of lasers I know but were not doing runs of 20,000 books so it suits us fine. Set up and install ------------------------ Came in a really big box. Looks like itd take 2 printers but disappointingly there was only one.Usual plug-and-play set-up on a workstation via a usb (supplied). we got the technician to install it to the network at a later date ...
...Supplies ------------ About £40 per HP cartridde which was getting WAY too expensive for the kids to use. I think the compatibles were coming in at around £30. * 1 x toner cartridge ( cyan ) - up to 2000 pages * 1 x toner cartridge ( magenta ) - up to 2000 pages * 1 x toner cartridge ( yellow ) - up to 2000 pages * 1 x toner cartridge ( black ) - up to 2500 pages Looks --------- Chunky but not especially bulky if that makes any sense. The ... Read review

Xerox Phaser 6110
Review of Xerox Phaser 6110 by Blimped

Advantages: Cheap colour laser, compact, easy to set up and use
Disadvantages: Noisy, slow, toner refills too small and difficult to obtain

The 6110 printing quality is very good in both colour & b&w even in draft mode. The unit is compact and simple in design. The print speed in b&w is adequate for home use but might be a bit slow for business use. Colour is too slow for anything other than a few copies. The machine is very reasonably priced and compares favourably with other similar printers spech wise. Downside is the small paper tray (250 sheets) and no add on available. Initial ... Read review
